The park is very convenient to the Costa Rica Tennis Club. It gets busy in the morning with runners, skaters, etc. It offers a nice environment for a run, walk, or just to people watch.

There was some renovation going on and many trees were being cut down. The park has soccer, kayaking, running trails, picnic areas, etc. We saw horses (mostly police) and people with dogs in addition to the regular walkers, leisure people, joggers, and soccer players. The park has a beautiful lagoon and boats can be rented. There isn't much in the... More

As an North American couple visiting for dental tourism, this gave us some insight into the slower paced culture of Costa Rica. It was nice to see families spending time together outdoors, lounging around on their picnic blankets, teaching their little ones to ride bikes, roller blading and just enjoying each other. In the United States, we'd all be attached... More

We didn't actually go into the park but drove by it on several occassions. It was always full of people walking, walking their pets, playing soccer and having picnics. It is a beautiful park.

I walked the length of the park on a hot day but lots of shade and light breezes kept it pleasant. There isn't a lot to do in the park, but if you just want a nice walk away from the cars and buses, this is the place. Also, some very nice views of the mountains north and south.

Go an hour after sunrise and an hour before sunset and you won't be disappointed. This isn't an 'amazing' park but there is lots to fine joy in. The lighting is perfect on the lake at these times if day. In the morning there are lots of squirrels, in the evening lot of crackles roosting and bathing in lovely rock... More

Much smaller, but the Sabanapark Has the same function for the people of San José. You can walk, bike, rollerskate, picknick, play football, baseball, etc.. And the National soccer stadium is in one of the corners of the park.
