This park has been restored lately and it is way better that it was not long ago, the new national stadium is the biggest land mark in the park. Be careful do not touch the lake's water.

We were staying at the Tryp Sabana hotel nearby, so we went for a nice walk through this park on our first day in the country. There were some interesting sights - the "highlighter" trees, a nice lake with a view of the mountains in the distance... be sure to check out the national soccer stadium, and the Costarricense art... Used to house the old airport. Place where many people go on the weekend with their family. See it and carry on.

Short cheap bus ride from the Best Western Irazu. Lots of families just out for the day on skates and bikes and little boats. Fruit and ice cream vendors along the way.

A large park in San Jose, with horse-riding, lake and stadium. Nothing very spectacular! Take a picnic with you. Before visiting pop in to Museo de Arte Costaricense.

We strolled there from down town. Just fun to hang out, there are paddle boats of rent and ponies, small stands with food. Tall trees with path so you can walk around the lake. Packed on Sunday afternoon

La Sabana is a huge park in the San José west area, it's a bit far from the city, but it's worth the visit while wandering around, especially if you are exploring the areas beneath the Mercado Municpal. It was nice to sit and watch people jog around, walking or just eat something. More important, is a place to relax... More

Nice park near an ugly downtown Good for running during day time You have to avoid it at night I learned recently that the nice white Colonial house in the middle of the Park use to be the headquarter of the old airport in San Jose it is why they converted the place in park

Has been cleaned up as they built the National Soccer Stadium there not too long ago. Sabana Park used to be the old air field many years ago.
