We train at the Sabana every day. they open the inner parking at 5AM and hundreds of locals flock to do their morning exercise. It's a great ambiance.

This huge park has a running track and trails, a roller blade oval, soccer, American football and baseball fields, basketball courts and I think tennis as well. It also had a small lake with paddle boat rentals and a stadium. It was filled with families and children picnicking, local sports teams playing and practicing and people having fun. The only... This was one of the highlites of the city in my previous visits, but upon the construction of the new soccer stadium next to it, they almost destroyed it. Very sad!

The first time I visited this park I was disappointed as it was desolate with no one around. It looked old and tired. The second time was more pleasant as there were people enjoying sports and picnics. I enjoyed the variety of ducks at the lake and watching the local try their much at fishing. I saw squirrels playing in... More

A bit crowded and chaotic on holidays, it's a great place to take a stroll on a weekday around the pond and through the varied mature mini-forests. There is also a jogging track, if that's your thing, but watch out for the bicyclists and skaters. I've met some nice locals there.

The park is a DUMP...unregulated food vendors, human feces, used condoms, horse manure, motorcycles driving across the park, corrupt park officials, charging money for using the public restroom, every other tree is a urinal, dog poop from stray and leashed dogs all over the place. It's not a family friendly park it's a place where ticos poop and urinate in public...and... More

This park is mainly nice because of its lake where it is worth to hang around. The problem is that it is a bit off the city center, but definitely worth to go for around 2 hours. As there is not too much cheap stuff to do in San José, this is a good choice!

What a lovely, HUGE, park! The National Stadium is located at the west end of it and is fabulous! Loved to see all of the families using the park - soccer, american football (yes!), biking, running! Very well used! Lots of garbage and recycling containers! Sort of reminded me of Central Park in New York (a bit).
