We were led on the tour by Fausto our Caravan tour guide and had a delightful day in the park. He lead us on a two hour excursion of the park and its wildlife. He really knows his botany of Costa Rica and i would recommend you request him for any tours

We walked through this cute, little park after a visit to the 'Atlantico train station'. It was a nice rest stop to have some snacks before continuing with our walking through downtown San Jose. There are several interesting statues and nice benches to relax. Beautiful trees and shrubs and very clean.

Got confused when some other TA reviewers said they saw squirrels & parrots. We didn't see any except locals & a few tourists like us. As 1 senior reviewer wrote, they probably got mixed up with 1 of the other parks. OK to visit as it was just a block from the National Museum, better than Parque Central

This is a place to bring a blanket, a lunch and a book and just to chill out, I really enjoyed the tranquility of this park and the lushness all around me, super green with lots of fauna and more than a few lizards, but who doesn't like a few aguawnas hanging around?

The park has a few statues in it and some people hanging out, but nothing overly spectacular. It is a nice stopover on the way to some of the other museums in the area

We started our Costa Rican adventure with a stay at the Parque de Lago hotel, immediately adjacent to Costa Rica's version of Central Park. We awoke to a beautiful morning and our first activity was an exploration of the park. It's a very big place, with beautiful landscaping and MANY different areas and by ways. Nice little lake in the... More

This is a big city park. Went on a week day and not much happening. Nice walk but not so much to see. Good place for the kids to run around and chase squirrels. Long ways from city center. Must take taxi.

Costa Rica has some fabulous national parks, with volcanos, beaches, and wildlife; more than one enthusiastic TA reviewer of the Parque Nacional in San Jose obviously is mistaking this for where they saw the volcano or beach! This is simply a city park, on a nice hill, where you can sit on a bench in the shade of a tree... More

For the culture-minded, there is a beautiful theater is the center of San Jose and several museums to visit.
