unless you are studying the process of the butterfly this was a very boring tour. Saw the same thing for each species. I was expecting to be able to enjoy the butterfly but instead stopped at every plant to see the eggs and talked about host plants even recieved a story that sounded like a story to be told to... If you're into butterflies this is the place to go. Lots of species to enjoy even for a neophyte like myself. I saw an European couple with some kids and it seemed like a good place to come if you have kids - the kids were competing to find out the different species. $7 seems a bit much though, but... More

The garden was very nice, small. I went early in the morning, and the butterflies were calm and easy to spot. Very informative about the life cycle of a butterfly. More

A one of a kind place. A city oasis. Amazing to see all stages of a butterfly fly unfolding in this lush city garden. The owner is very passionate. Although if you are not a nature-lover you may find it boring. More

Fairly well run and with a gracious guide. It's a little hard to find. Taxi drivers didn't know where it was, but we find that everywhere. No beer or any kind of alcohol is available in their small restaurant, but there were soft drinks, coffee, and water there. Las mariposas were beautiful! More

This small little butterfly garden is piece of paradise in the big city. The Sunday morning staff (one teenager) managed to bridge the language barrier to give us enough information to get started. I can't say that we learned a lot, but we certainly enjoyed spending an hour with the all the butterflies, some toads and turtles, and one giant... More

I would definitely recommend this to travelers on their trip to San Jose. Beautiful garden that's a little on the small side. Tons and tons of butterflies, moths, and caterpillars. More
