The's a fair amount of misinformation about this attraction. Firsy, it's misnamed; this is a building; that's why it possesses architecture. The Correos de Costa Rica is no more a building than France's La Poste or the USA's Pony Express. The correct complete name of this attraction is the Edificeo de Correos. A gringa from Vermont informs us that this... More

The old post office building that stands out because of its size and architectural detail. A beautiful exterior with intricate carvings that draw attention to the windows, column and doors. It requires some time to step back and observe in order to appreciate the beauty of the building itself.

The architecture of this historic structure is quite beautiful as compared to most of the buildings in San Jose. The place is immense and the employees were pleasant.

the Post Office is one of the few colonial buildings in San Jose - it has a philatelic section for those interested in stamp collecting. Helpful staff who spoke English.

Nice building, which stands out from the others around, but really only worth 3 minutes of admiration. Put it on your "to pass" list on your itinirary in downtown San Jose.

We bought some postcards to send Christmas wishes back home to Canada, and went to the main Post Office to mail them. A beautiful old building in excellent shape right in the heart of old downtown. We walked past there nearly every day.

Architecturally worth a visit! One of the nicest colonial buildings in San Jose. Centrally located and easy to find.
