This is a big centre in the Plaza Cultural, with the gold museum on the ground floor and the other floors (included in the entrance fee) used for different exhibitions. When we visited they had various exhibitions on the history of Costa Rica, an art exhibition, and one on herbal medicines too, which were all quite interesting. We spent a... more

The Museo del Oro is part of a three story basement complex accessible by steps down from the Plaza de la Cultura on the side opposite the Gran Hotel Costa Rica. Opening at 9:30 AM on weekdays (closed on weekends) there were also exhibits of stamps, currency, and photographs when we visited--all included in the $6 entry fee. The Museo... more
