walking into the butterfly garden from the hustle of san jose was a relaxing break. the garden was peaceful and i finally got some photos of a blue morpho butterfly. it's a manageable size, built around a charming courtyard. i enjoyed the early history area, and the francisco cota photography exhibit was fantastic! More

this is the place to go if you are interested in the archaeology of the prehistoric indigenous cultures of CR. Esphericos, stone tools, gold, and numerous sculptures, ceramics, etc. Fascinating place, and near an open-air market. More
