My husband insisted we visit the Museo del Jade, and he was right. I preferred this collection to the artifacts at the Gold Museum. Their collection of ceramics was outstanding, and we were impressed as to the number of items that were perfectly preserved. We got a kick out of their collection of erotic ceramics. The Gold museum might have... More

Difficult to find in a weird building but well worth it as the collection was well displayed and many of items were great fun.

The museum was quite interesting, and we learned some interesting facts about Costa Rica. At $8.00 per person, we found it a little pricy considering how fast you can see the entire museum.

Didn't have enough time allotted for the museum was the only problem. Could have stayed much longer.

There are numerous other pre-Columbian artifacts, such as pottery and stonework, all found in Costa Rica. The thing missing for me was an explanation of where in Costa Rica these artifacts were found. The findings were not well connected with settlements.....just... More

The history and the beautiful jade tools were amazing. The price, 8 dollars a pop for what I consider a small museum was way to high. You can see the whole thing in about an hour or so. They recently raised the price from 2 dollars to 8 dollars. Our children were free so that helped a bit but 2... More

We expected more from the jade museum, and had expected (according to lonely planet) to be able to go to the top floor of the building the museum is located in, to get a view over San Jose. We couldn't go in the main building, the jade museum is located in a corner of the ground floor with a different... More
