I made the mistake of waiting till my last day before going on this brilliant walking tour. I actually got lucky so that both my yoga session and my tour were both private as no one else had booked on it. The yoga session made me feel brilliant and was a lot more traditional and authentic than you're normal gym... More

Our tour guide (Maria) is good and we got to see the nice parks, historical, government and tourist site on this tour. It is typically two hours. We thought it was nice and when we ran out of time (she had another tour after us) we conveniently landed at a souvenir market. Very nice things. I am happy we did... More

This is the closest you're going to come to meeting a new best friend and having her show you around her home city of San José. My wife and I visited Costa Rica from Brooklyn, NY, and are firm believers that the best way to see a city is by foot, stopping frequently, poking our heads into interesting places, and... More

On our first day in Costa Rica, we decided to take a walking tour of the city to help familiarize ourselves with the country. Stacey, our guide, took us on a leisurely walk around the town. She was very engaging to both the adults and children (ages 7 & 8). We got a good overview of history, culture and food.... More

Friendly and informative. With only one day in San Jose I would never have found the places the guide showed us. Great value for money. I'm so glad I contacted Barrio Bird Tours

I had a fabulous walking tour of San Jose with Barrio Birds! Carla gave me an insider's view of the city. I learned a lot about the history, art, and food. Just a wonderful experience!

Just a short note: I only found these guys on TripAdvisor early Saturday morning, & contacted them straight away through their website, to see if I could join their daily tour & do yoga ($38) on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. Their online form submission said they'd get back to me within 24-72 hours, depending on the urgency of the request.... More

San José is a beautiful walking city with many hidden surprises. Our guide Carla was excellent, and is a true participant in the city's revitalization. This company is hip, sharing history but also the newest urban places to check out and how city Ticos live, not the countryside always depicted. Lots of culture to enjoy and expanded my view of... Like many other people have previously mentioned, this was such a worthwhile opportunity to get a brief overview of San Jose. It was a pleasure to be led by my guide, Carla, who was extremely knowledgeable about the city, its history and Costa Rican culture. Thank you!
