What a wonderful way to discover San José! Before I arrived there lots of people said, that San José isn't worth to do a city tour and it isn't very nice to see. But they all are wrong, Stacey showed me better! She told us so much about the city and about nice little places where you could go, as... More

We were in San Jose for one day on April 26th and wanted to explore the city as much as possible! Thankfully we heard about Barrio Bird Walking tours! My wife and I had the pleasure of walking around the city with two locals from San Jose, who were extremely knowledgeable about the history of the city and Costa Rica... More

We booked the tour 2 days before, had a confirmation, drove 45 minutes to go to the meeting point, waited 30 minutes... The guide never showed up... We tried to reach Stacey twice : once on time, saying we were at the meeting point, the second time 25 minutes later to ask her what was going on. She only answered... More

Thank you for the review. I'm very sorry that I made such a grave error, and it's our loss as we missed a chance to show you the best of San Jose and enjoy your company along the way. You are right, offering complimentary tours is a limited apology given the nature of the business. I'll try to think of... More

I congratulated myself over and over for having booked this tour. I usually like to discover places by myself, but due to limited time in San Jose (before heading to Arenal) and due to some quite mixed reviews that I had previously red about the city, I decided to "play safe" and go on this tour, especially that I had... Not the most interesting, cleanest or safest city in the world but we still had a good time. Our tour guide was Stacey (she is the one who started the Barrio Bird Tours) and she was fabulous. Very knowledgeable about the city and hit all the hot spots. We did the tour that combined the city and the market (so... More

Thanks for this nice review. I love to really help visitors get a good understanding of Costa Rica by not limiting the focus to site seeing, but also sharing information about culture, society, economics, precolumbian history, natural disasters and more. This helps explain why San Jose is as interesting, safe and clean as it is. I'm glad you enjoyed your... More

My friends and I had a day to blow before our beach vacation ended, and opted for a day in the city before returning to "real" life. We took this 3 hour walking tour to "get it all in". The tour is actually very good, but the fact is there just isn't that much to see or do in San... More

Thanks so much for the review. I had a great time with your group. It's always been our mission to go beyond just showing sites and really help visitors get a good understanding of Costa Rica by also sharing information about culture, society, economics, precolumbian history, natural disasters and more. We'll keep working to deliver that information as we visit... More

We took a walking tour advertised as three hours but actually turned out to be only two. The guide walked us around downtown San Jose, showing us what little there was to be seen- mostly park areas and old buildings that had been converted to schools. Half of the tour was inside of the huge central market, which houses hundreds... More

Hi there thank you so much for your response. It sounds like there might have been an error when we scheduled your tour. All tours booked as 3 hours should last 3 hours. We love showing people around so much it's hard not to go over actually so I must have scheduled it as 2. Certainly if you paid for... More

The San Jose city walking tour was a very informative start to our holiday. Despite being late for our meeting with Carla in the park she waited and we were able to take part in her tour. She showed us all day mean historical buildings including schools theaters, and described local Anna. We enjoyed the trip to the market where... More

We had a day to spend in San Jose before leaving for a bus tour, so we took the Birds Nest overview tour of the city. She took us (6 women) around the central area and showed us the highlights. We finished about lunch time, so we asked her for a good place to eat and she left us in... More

We had high expectations due to previous comments. If it was cheaper, we might have rated a little higher. If it was better, we would not have minded the price. Carla was lovely but seems like we maybe caught her on a bad day. She seemed distracted...checking her phone multiple times. $28 US per person for basically a stroll through... More

Thanks for leaving your review. I'm very sorry we didn't meet your expectations. Late arrivals do happen sometimes and we build in a 15 minute wait time just in case, modifying tour speed to get everything in. That is probably why she was checking the phone, to keep the group moving at a timely pace and to communicate with management... More
