We did the one-day trip down the Pacuare on August 11th. We went with Costa Sol from San Jose and their guides were excellent and safety-conscious. It's a long day, but well worth the $99 per-person cost. Raul was our guide throughout the day and Juan led us down the river while Raul served as our safety kayaker. They were... More

I booked this trip with some friends through Costa del Sol, and we had a blast. It's a long day, so be prepared to be picked up early in the morning, and not get back til early evening. There's a stop for breakfast prior to rafting which is decent. The rafting trip itself was great, and its amazingly scenic. Lunch... More

I booked the 1 Day tour through Gecko Trails. The tour bus picked me up on time at the entrance of Cahuita National Forrest. it was clean and comfortable but, as is the case with all bus situations in Costa Rica, they aren't big on the bathroom breaks. i suggest hydrating the day before any sort of travel in CR,... This water rafting trip was by far the best value of anything I did on my trip. With pick up right from my hotel in San Jose, free breakfast and lunch, 4 hours on the water, all for $99, what a deal. I went by myself and met some great people and our guide was awesome. Was given several opportunities... More

This was just a fantastic day, rafting through a beautiful national park on the river Pacuare. The drive is a little arduous, around 2.5 hours, but well worth it. The team were friendly and everything was well organised. The scenery was stunning, the water warm and the rapids just angry enough to make it adventurous without being dangerous.

I booked a tour from the hostel, which included the transportation from SJ-rafting base-La Fortuna, and breakfast & lunch also included. team of 6 plus a raft guide were on the same raft. The level 3-4 rafting tour lasted 4 hours, and everybody got wet and had fun! The mountains and forests along the river were worth to see as... More

We, my friends and I, were asked about our age when we announced to our travel agent that we wanted to participate in a white wather rafting. We said 42 years because we wanted it to be good speed on the choice of the river. There is nothing we regret. Even the bus ride up to the start was exciting... More

Beautiful scenery on a river with Class 3 and 4 rapids. There are several nice waterfalls to view as you pass by. Take a waterproof camera with a long cord that you can leash to the straps of the flotation vest.
