We did the 2-day trip with Exploradores Adventuras and it was truly the highlight of our three week Costa Rica adventure. I've been running whitewater rivers in the U.S. for 40 years and I can say that the beauty of this lush tropical canyon and the quality and quantity of rapids is as good as any I've seen. Exploradores is... More

We booked door to door transfers from San Jose to. Puerto. Viejo with the option to do this raft trip on the way., and we're sure glad we opted for this beautiful, thrilling trip down 18 K of secluded canyons, with waterfalls cascading into the gorge, class 3 and 4 rapids to navigate, with the help of our excellent guide,... Very good rafting, speed river II-IV class. When river is shallow is very speedy and sometime risky. Beautiful views and nice lunch.

this was one of the highlights of our trip to Costa Rica. Organised by Casa Truire Hotel near Turrialba, we were picked up from the hotel and then had a wild, exhilarating trip down the river with great advice from our guide. There is a certain amount of risk, 2 members of our raft group fell out and there are... More

This is a terrific experience if you have just enough adventure in your blood. You go through the Class 3 and 4 rapids and through the most scenic river in Costa Rica, under and through waterfalls, around rock formations in the river like slaloming down a mountain but through fast and angry rapids. You get down times to just take... More

I went on this lovely adventure in August using ExploradoresOutdoors. White water rafting was so amazing and a lot of fun. I think this still counts as one of my best adventures yet. I will definitely plan a 2 day one next time PURA VIDA!!!

I went here this August and I loved it. The nature, the scenery, the super green canyon you go through and the raft and your friends are the sum of a perfect adventure close to San José, I used costasol rafting and their guides are hilarious. The included breakfast is nice topical costarrican and after you take the tour the... More

There is not much to add to the glowing other reviews, except for some practical tips: -there are several companies, we went with Tico river adventures and were very happy in every respect (including arranging this), and Moses was a great captain (we felt safe despite being novices, having our kids in the group of 6 and a very strong,... I recomment, pay for the pictures they are an amazing souvenir. Ask for Derek from USA he is an excellent tour guide. During the trip, you can go to an amazing waterfall, swim and stay under it for a while, be careful walking to get there. (Must use wear sport shoes or water shoes, NOT SANDALS). There's another stop where... More

Website told us what we needed, but felt it wasn't accurate. Didn't need the recommended jacket and towel (they give you a towel at the end). You must have correct foot wear (water shoes/sandals) and wear a short or long sleeve rash guard-type shirt (not t-shirts). They will sell you all of these there if needed but PLEASE NOTE: They...
