Surreal Beach Spot

Awesome beach spot, especially if you'd like to be a bit farther away from the tourist attractions. The jungle really meets the beach over here. I've been to this spot multiple... read more

This used to be "THE GAY BEACH," but a development went up right behind the beach, so the character has greatly changed. It is still a nice spot, one of my favorite beaches around the world, but just know that it has changed - it is mostly utilized by families that stay at the hotel, and can sometimes be a... More

Awesome beach spot, especially if you'd like to be a bit farther away from the tourist attractions. The jungle really meets the beach over here. I've been to this spot multiple times and always have an excellent experience with the jungle fauna and the ocean waves. -Saw the cutest sloth ever last time I was here and watching my boo... More

We found this beach by accident when looking for a different beach. We had a car so we wound up driving right down onto the beach. You can park under the trees in the shade and have all of your snack and drinks in the car. My husband and I really enjoyed this beach. The swells were pretty big that... More

Some websites highlight it as THE gay beach, where you can relax and play. However, that was years ago. Currently, it's not worth going there (especially not in the rainy season), as the beach is empty and only visited by local families.

We heard about a fabulous gay beach but has now been taken over by a huge hotel. There is now an even smaller section, literally a few feet wide left :( that being said, there are beautiful beaches everywhere.

Arrive at low tide and stay until low tide. Unless of course you are staying at the new hotel that has annoying guests screaming and shouting at each other. Waves are fun but be careful of the rip tides. You might loose a child or two if you are not attentive. No surfing on regular boards but the boogie boards... More

This is a beautiful area which can be seen from various hotels around the area but better experienced walking along the water or sitting under the tree canopy along the beaches. There are folks always willing to rent or sell you something, including chair rentals. Be assertive, polite, and say no when you do not want to rent or buy.... More

The beach was lovely. The water was warm, clear and beautiful. Be careful of the monkeys they will steal things from your backpack.
