Some websites highlight it as THE gay beach, where you can relax and play. However, that was years ago. Currently, it's not worth going there (especially not in the rainy season), as the beach is empty and only visited by local families.

We heard about a fabulous gay beach but has now been taken over by a huge hotel. There is now an even smaller section, literally a few feet wide left :( that being said, there are beautiful beaches everywhere.

There are folks always willing to rent or sell you something, including chair rentals. Be assertive, polite, and say no when you do not want to rent or buy.... More

The beach was lovely. The water was warm, clear and beautiful. Be careful of the monkeys they will steal things from your backpack.

Long walk to La Playita, blazing in the hot sun. You had to wither be in the shade, or in the water.
