Coming around the corner from the bus stop and noted the bookstore. I had been looking for a decent bookstore. It is a mostly used bookstore with a decent selection of books in english. Checked out the selection on classics and it was adequate. Found what I was looking for. The Tico dude working was very helpful with directions in... More

Great selection of books and Jeff and Carolyn were really knowledgeable about local tours and helped us choose ones that fit with what we were looking for. They are really lovely and helpful! Thanks again! More

Stopped by Jaime Peligro Book Shop on accident because it was raining and we hadn't booked a hostel in Quepos yet. Owners were extremely nice and helpful - they called around to their favorite hostels in town and found us a great deal at Hotel Plinio's down the road (and also suggested Sabores for good, cheap food). We went back... More

We happened to be eating across the street at a restaurant and saw this book store. Jeff from Colorado was so amazing. He helped us schedule a tour and book a taxi without charging a dime. He was so nice and helpful. We felt lucky to have walked into his store. Also a bonus- he had the perfect used book... More

Found this friendly little bookstore amid the bustling Quepos streets. The shop was just what my wife and our kids needed-- a friendly, quiet place to buy and browse used books. The owners were also very helpful, insightful, and honest in their reviews of local cuisine and concessionaires. A nice respite from the huslte and humid town. Very nice folks... More

My first trip to Costa Rica would have been a drab vacation had I not found the Jaime Peligro book shop. Of course I had done a lot of research about Quepos/Manuel Antonio and the surrounding areas before taking off on a jet plane but trips fueled by spontaneity and unexpected adventure usually turn out to be the best kind.... Just a few short weeks ago I walked by the cutest local bookstore in downtown Quepos. Of course I backed up immediately because it was pulling and calling me to go inside. Of course my two addictions of choice are books and coffee/lattes. Well, I found myself in book heaven here. I was greeted immediately by the owners Jeff and... More

On a recent trip to Quepos, we happened into one of the most inviting bookstores ever. At Jaime Peligro Book and CD shop we found ourselves very excited to have found one of the best Maps of Costa Rica. We have found a few over the years but this one truly is worthy of being framed. Beyond the excellent selection... More
