We walked every open trail in the park and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We felt forturnate enough to see a few sloths with babies, white faced monkeys, many lizards, a deer standing two feet from us eating some greenery and an agouti (guinea pig) family of mom,dad and baby. The trails were remarkable and the miradors offered many photo opportunities. The... More

Much better with a guide. Animals we saw: Deer, white snake, frogs, frog eggs, bat, quetzal, howler monkey, white faced monkey, crabs, Jesus Christ Lizard and sloth. More people around than I expected. Trail was more of a car path. Walk around Cathedral Point was a nice hike. Beaches were very nice. More

We so enjoyed our trip to Manuel Antonio! Tip: HIRE A GUIDE!!! It was well worth the extra $$. Our guide was able to find & show us wildlife that we would have never seen on our own! Beautiful area & beaches! More

Manuel Antonio Park draws visitors from around the world because of it's lush forests and pristine sandy beaches to say nothing of the diversity of animals found within. You can find mangrove swamps and lagoons along with over 100 species of mammals and nearly 200 species of birds. Be sure and take a guide or you are likely to have... More

Find a guy named Carlos if you want to rent a board to surf (for best price) or if you need lessons. He's part of the surf school called Dantes Water Sports and you can find him right by the lifeguard station (chair) at the middle of the beach. He is the best for sure! More

The entrance to the park was a real surprise, we weren't sure we were even on the proper trail until we got to the point where we purchased our tickets. We arrived early knowing that they limit the number of visitors in the park at any one time. It was mesmerizing just to sit on the beach and watch the... More

DON'Y pull over and park when you are waved down by official looking people. Drive all the way to the park entrance. The other guys will offer tours (not bad) at inflated prices AND charge you for parking, AND you have a long walk to the park! Once in the park, you do need a guide. Take a bottle of... More

The entrance fee is worth the cost as well as the paying for an official group guide tour. There are amazing creatures that are spotted and seen through the very powerful lens of the guide. Also, he will take pix from the special scope for your own camera. Nice way to meet people from all over the world. The monkeys... More

Park is arranged somewhat strangely with a single entrance away from the water but there is lots to see. I highly recommend that you walk along the trails and keep your eyes peeled. Lots of Toucans, Sloths, Lizards, Monkeys, and more! More

What a great day expedition at Manuel Antonio National Park. My friend and I looked forward to this which was at the end of our great stay in Costa Rica. We went with other tourists and our own guide of this lovely park. He was defintiely a professional and knew every part of the park itself. He had a telescope... More
