2nd visit to the Sanctuary in 5 yrs - really enjoy learning about Costa Rica's incredible animals, birds - some of them you're so close to - Carol & her team are doing an admirable service here & it is well worth the $25 add-on side trip while on the La Sirena Dolphin tour...in fact, the only way you'll ever... We really enjoyed our one-day hiking with Steven in the Corcovado National Park. The manner he can locate and identify animals is impressive. He came with a telescope, so that we were able to fully benefit from the beauty of what we saw. And Steven knows a lot about Costa Rica and its wildlife. Also, price is competitive! Thanks a... More

Everything about this place is magical. You can only get there by boat. What a way to arrive! The boat ride from our lodge was gorgeous. As a bonus, after the tour, our boat driver let us go snorkeling in the water a short distance from the sanctuary's entrance. The Golfo Dulce had the best snorkeling I've experienced in Costa... the guide is not paid. They are volunteers. I really learnt a lot about all the animals. Especially the eyelash viper which is highly dangerous and poisonous.

Osa Wildlife Sanctuary is like being in a music box with sounds of birds chirping and animal noises 24 hours a day. It's beautiful and filled with wildlife. Not a phone or internet to disturb the peace. A perfect way to experience nature

Just go. There's nothing like seeing these animals in the wild, but sadly, for many reasons, the one's at the Sanctuary are there because they are not ready, or never will be for some, to re-enter the forests. The benefit as a visitor is twofold. One, you get to actually interact with many species (think howler moneys crawling on your... More

I went into this with very high hoped based on reviews here on TripAdvisor. I was very disappointed. Our guide was the owner of the sanctuary, who seemed like a nice lady. The facilities were just not what I pictured. Every animal except one monkey were caged. Carol would lead you around and open a few cages to let some... More

This is a DO NOT MISS event to get up close and personal with animals as well as learning about them as well. Carol is spectacular and explains the elements in an pleasant educational setting. Most importantly, this is all about the animals and their safety. There is no fee for this sanctuary, but a donation to support their efforts.
