I enjoyed it simply because I love seeing butterflies and being outside. Not much info and could be kept in better condition. Not many butterflies considering it is a butterfly garden Waterfall hike was good and so was the swim when you got there Bring good sandals the hike is not just regular path to the falls.

We came for the Butterfly Gardens and the hike to the waterfall. The gardens is a very small (and let me emphasize small) area with only a few butterflies. It is not worth it. We did see 3 blue butterflies, but I saw more butterflies on our nature hike. The waterfall hike is nice. If you are wanting to go... More

We stopped by one afternoon and spoke with Ryan the owner of the inn and the butterfly garden and decided to come back the next morning for breakfast and to walk through the garden. It was a nice relaxing morning after the long walk up the three steep hills to get there. We started off with a nice cooked breakfast... More

The Mariposario was located on a steep hill -- so prepare for a hike! The tour is nice and informative, and the butterflies are impressive in size and colour, but I think our favourite was the owner's home-brewed IPA. He also lets you taste some superfood plant juice (quite "interesting" taste!) and shows you some pretty yucky spiders, but you... More

Saw 3 butterflies. More outside the garden. The guide smelled like staly beer. The enclosure was small and seemed like someone just hung up screen around the forest and called it a butterfly garden.

The butterfly garden is closed September through November. We allow visitors to enter on their own for half price. The "guide" was most likely a volunteer and I apologize for his smell. More

The garden tour was informative. The guide did a fantastic job of walking us through the different plants, seeds, and insects and how they mingle together in their own Eco system.

Once we made it up those crazy hills, soaked to the bone in perspiration, Ryan- one of the owners- took us on an easy walk on a trail through the jungle educating us about various plants and creatures of the area. He then took us into the butterfly enclosure where there were plenty of Morpho palides and other beautiful butterflies.... More

I've been there a dozen times, but just to get a soda and relax on the balcony after hiking a lot. And to pay to use their WiFi occasionally. Everyone there is super nice and friendly. They've got hotel rooms which look really nice, I had them give me the tour once. And the butterfly gardens are supposed to be... More

Only an idiot would walk up to the butterfly garden in the hottest part of the day - you go up a steep hill, up another steep hill, round the corner, and just when you think it can't be any further - guess what - up another steep hill. The signpost says it's only 800m from the town. However, the... More
