Manuel and the other surf instructors and young vision are so friendly and really help you to catch a good wave and learn how to surf. They provide the entire package, including climbing a palm tree to provide fresh coconut as a treat! If you are in costa rica you should definitely surf with these guys.

We stayed at Ylang Ylang Beach Resort for our honeymoon May 17-23. The best thing we did was go surfing Friday morning. Our instructor, Manuel, was amazing! He was very knowledgable and turned us in to pretty good surfers! It was nice that he lived by Playa Grande so we didn't have to carry our boards for the 20 minute... More

Been meaning to write a review since I visited in late April - What a great experience! Alvaro really took me under his wing - we did a few days at Playa Grande, and then a few days at Cedros (point break). I extended my stay in Montezuma, specifically because I was having such a blast learning to surf from... More

Young Vision Surf School is amazing. I had no previous surfing experience but thanks to Manuel's guidance was able to stand up on a board and catch waives within the first 15 minutes of our first surf lesson. Manuel provided great feedback and helped me to make a very good progress throughout the week. There are no more than 3... More

My wife and I have tried to learn on two continents with at least two instructors and it never clicked. Manuel and his fellow coaches are experts that know how to break down the fundamentals into bite size chunks that you can handle. Performance based individual instruction that works. Playa Grande was the perfect place to learn, can't recall a... More

The girls took surf lessons for the first time. We had a long hike to playa grande but the beach was beautiful. The instructor was knowledgeable and the girls were able to successfully surf. My husband and I played in the ocean which was lovely with no pull. As the day progressed the pull did as well. Felt safe having... More

On thursday march 5th, 6 of my family took surf lessons at Playa Grande with Young vision Surf school! Age ranking 11-13-13-18-21 and 55. I went to watch the Surf lessons with my family.I had second thought about their ability to learn how to surf considering they were not feeling so good the day before. Thanks to Manuel Cespedes and... More

Albero is a top notch instructor and kind when you are not following instructions. He helped me and my buddy learn the basics and start to feel like we could advance on in our first lesson. Due to time constraints, it was our only lesson, but I'd recommend and even book them again for more lessons.

Manuel, Albero and Nego are great guys and excellent teachers! Young Vision Surf School is a well run operation and I would highly recommend them! We had an awesome experience! We were all (two teens and 1 adult) able to catch waves on our own with just one lesson. In addition, Manual brought us to the waterfalls and stuck around... More

Our family - 2 teens an 11 year old, my husband and myself, all went surfing for the first time with Manuel and his team. As others have said, this makes for a great day. I emailed them before our trip and received prompt replies (always heard back from them on the same day), I reserved our preferred date in... More
