I'm afraid of heights and I jumped the 50 ft waterfall!

Be prepared to hike up to the top but it is amazing. Because I am afraid of heights my group of friends did not think I would jump. They were up at the top talking to some Canadians and all of a sudden realized I wasn't there and they called my name. One of the Canadians calmly told them I... More

Montezuma Falls is well documented to be the #1 tourist destination in the area. No doubt from the other reviews you can see it is pretty and worth doing. Therefore thought to focus on just how hard or easy it is so you can judge if you are up to it. Some reviews would give you an idea it is... More

My wife and I visited in May and enjoyed the hike, although she was wearing wedge heels which were not the right choice for this hike. It is not too difficult for young adults, but tennis shoes are definitely the preferred footwear. We only went as far as the first falls (I wasn't even aware you could go beyond the... More

To get to the falls was a long and rather slippery hike! There were so many locals there to help us out though. The bottom hole was amazing but it's worth the climb to go up to the next part of the falls!

The hike was tough, only a few ropes and some pretty intense vertical climbs but well worth it! We didn't choose to jump but loved watching everyone else do so! The view is amazing!

My wife and I are honeymooning in Montezuma and visited the falls early in our trip. This place is not to be missed. 3 breathtaking waterfalls with fresh water swimming holes below. We started from the top and walked our way down, but a lot of people we met did the opposite. To visit all three falls you must pay... More

I've been here before having my daughter, it's very nice. Don't even attempt it with small kids or if you can't hike, though! People do often hurt themselves here. It's not the only waterfall in Costa Rica, we took my toddler to a few in Uvita, south of Dominical....these ones are just a tough walk to get to.

This waterfall is a must see! The hike from town is probably 40-45 minutes and is absolutely gorgeous. When you get to the waterfall there is a nice little swimming hole at the bottom which provides for some refreshing water to cool off from the hot sun. It was a nice change from the warm salt water that we were... More

I have heard that there are actually 3 or 4 waterfalls as you ascend but I only visited the lowest one. From what I could see most of the visitors stopped at the first falls and took a swim. It was a fairly challenging hike just to see the first falls but it was worth the walk. From the first... More

We decided to drive up the hill to where the canopy tours start, and hiked down ($2 a person). I was 12 weeks pregnant, so a long strenuous hike wasn't what I wanted to do- and this short hike to the falls was great! We enjoyed swimming and enjoying the beautiful nature around the falls. We highly recommend it! The... More
