My family and I spent 5 weeks in Costa Rica January and some of February 2015. Montezuma Falls was one of the top highlights of the entire trip. We loved the falls so much we went back for a 2nd and 3rd visit to bring friends / family that came to visit with us. There are two ways to get... More

We are not the best of shape. Our children (teens) however are in pretty good shape. All of us found the hike difficult. Apparently the hike from the top water fall to the two lowers falls are even more difficult. We never made it that far. You do cross three hanging bridges, and numerous up and down steps. It likely... More

Make sure you climb to the 3rd water fall. You can pay 4 dollars to use the steps and bridge owned by the zipline or go up the other way which appears to be a much harder hike. Totally worth it.

Rocky terrain 20 minute hike leads to amazing area! Spend hours there, swim and get the coconuts at the road when finished!

What most travellers don't know if they write of the Montezuma waterfalls is that there are at least twenty. That makes this place almost unique. We have been travelling quiet a bit and have not seen something like this. The geographic layout of Montezuma with the cliff above what stretches between Tango mar and Cabuya aloud this unique quantity of... More

SO Awesome! My first time zip lining- super safe and so extreme and fun! Plus you get to jump in the waterfalls! Aggressive walk - be prepared. :)

Lovely falls, water clean and cool, a bit of a trek to see them but worth it. Wear sensible shoes as the rocks can be a little unsteady.

An amazing way to spend a morning in montezuma by hiking to the falls. Be sure to wear water shoes or new flip flops!

This was my 2nd most favorite activity in while in Montezuma (first was Curu National a Wildlife Refuge). The hikes are relatively easy and short and the swimming is the most refreshing you'll find to cool off (as the ocean is warm). Beautiful views. Make sure to see all pools. Take good shoes or water sox. You DON'Tneed to do... More
