I have heard that there are actually 3 or 4 waterfalls as you ascend but I only visited the lowest one. From what I could see most of the visitors stopped at the first falls and took a swim. It was a fairly challenging hike just to see the first falls but it was worth the walk. From the first... More

We decided to drive up the hill to where the canopy tours start, and hiked down ($2 a person). I was 12 weeks pregnant, so a long strenuous hike wasn't what I wanted to do- and this short hike to the falls was great! We enjoyed swimming and enjoying the beautiful nature around the falls. We highly recommend it! The... More

Popular with the locals, this is a great spot to take a swim after a sweaty hike through the jungle. The best swimming is at the top!

Love! Love! Love it!! Only take a small bag with no valuables. Its not dangerous, but we have heard from other couples they had local harmless guys run with their bags. No worries, just take sun screen, wear good shoes, and a towel!!

Not overly touristy, very peaceful and lovely jump opportunities! Really liked the multiple levels of waterfalls, makes it interesting with various vistas.

You can walk here from town and follow the turnoff sign. Wear running or hiking shoes. After a rocky 30 minute hike through the forest, you come across your destination of the Montezuma Falls. We were there in March, dry season and the falls were still a spectacle. But I understand the waterway is much higher and the falls greater... More

A short walk from Montzuma the falls are a nice day trip. It is fun to swim after the hike up to the top. The path to the top is a little tricky, so use a local guide if one is available

The water was very refreshing and cool for the hot time of day. the country side was worth the walk down and the "fee" of $4.00

If you find yourself in tiny Montezuma, and you are tired of lazing on the beach, this waterful is a must. it is an easy, fun hike and the water is beautiful. I will always have a special place in my heart for this waterfall--- it helped me to meet my future wife and her friends. :)
