You can't visit Monteverde and not spend a day at the Cloud Forest Biological Reserve -- a beautiul, peaceful area. Relatively easy hiking (the outer loop took us 2 1/2 hours at an easy pace) and with a little luck you'll see a quetzal as we did. More

You can hike as much or as little as you want. I think the longest loob is about a 3 mile hike. We chose about a 2 mile. Very cool place. Never saw so much moss on trees anywhere and abundant wild life to view More

We did a self-guided tour of Monteverde Cloud Forest and were not disappointed. You need to be in good physical shape to do this. We followed up with a tour of the Hummingbird Sanctuary, which was very nice, and lunch at the park cafe, which was very good--typical Tica lunch. More
