We were looking for a zip lining experience for young kids - a 4 year old, and an 8 year old with Down Syndrome who can get scared easily. Our hotel recommended the Ranario zip line, which is not very heavily advertised at all. The staff was great, they were very patient and great with the kids. My son was... More

The facilities were ok, which is to say, they could have been better. The tour guide was excellent and very knowledgeable. We saw the butterfiles and after that did the ziplines, rappelling, and the tarzan swing, which was very cool. I would definitely go back there for that. After this we saw the frog exhibit, which is a very intresting... More

I took my mother-in-law who visited us in Monteverde. Having limited "quiet" tours in Monteverde she was pleased to go visit the frogs! We took the day tour knowing they'd be less active but our guide Hebert was so knowledgeable, friendly and quiet entertaining that we saw every specie they had and a rather interesting snake. It's a great place... More

I went night zip-lining with a large group, and the guides were patient and knowledgeable. I had never gone zip-lining before and was a little nervous but felt I was in good hands. When walking between the platforms, we saw some wildlife and found tarantulas in holes on the side of dirt embankments. At the end, we were met with... More

I love frogs, so we popped in when we had some extra time after lunch one day. We were very impressed by this attraction. Our guide, Daniel, was wonderful. We explored the butterfly garden, the frog pond and the insect display. Daniel never rushed us and shared great information. I don't know why this attraction isn't publicized more. It is... More

We decided to go here on our honeymoon and took a guided tour around the frogs, butterflies and insects. Our guide Daniel was brilliant. Very knowledgeable, able to spot all the frogs which we would have had no chance of seeing on our own and even gifted us some aloe leaves for our sore red skin. The aloe worked wonders... More

Good way to see all the butterflies and frogs. If you buy a ticket in the morning or afternoon, you can come back with the same ticket during the evening to see the night frogs. Daniel is a well knowledged and enthusiastic guide.

It feels a little like a tourist trap, and it's overpriced, but we did enjoy seeing the frogs and butterflies. We maybe enjoyed the butterfly rooms more than the frogs -- our guide was very informative, and we loved seeing the beautiful chrysalises as well as the butterflies. The frog area is a bunch of terrariums behind glass that you... More

Might be worth it more if you have time to do both tours. Then it would've made the fee worth it. It is true that you may not see stuff in the wild so this is a good option. You should go outside though too!
