This wasn't our favorite attraction. While they do have a butterfly garden and zip lining we only visited the frog pond. The frogs are all inside of terrariums and most are very small and hard to spot. Be sure to take the tour so the guide can point them out to you, otherwise you'll never find them. My little one... Take the guide ... you'll see nothing otherwise, but the guides are most patient and take time to find the frogs for you within the landscapes of their cages.

This review is for the Frog Pond and Butterfly garden in Santa Elena aka the Monteverde Theme Park. Some of the photos on this page do not seem to match up with this location. I think there is more than one Frog Pond perhaps. This location contains twelve or so big terrariums with different species of frogs in them. A... More

We took our 5 & 6 year old zip lining at Renario because I had read that it was suitable for kids. I was hoping that the kids would not be to scared to try it and they were not! They had guides zip line with them and loved every moment of it.

The butterfly 'garden' is actually greenhouses but you get to see a lot of nice butterflies and it explains about them. The insect museum was interesting and the guide was knowledgeable. We did the frog ponds (aquariums) at night and that was nice - managed to see the frogs in every single one. If you don't have time for all... More

My boyfriend loves frogs, and we were able to spend as much time as we wanted taking photos of the frogs! We went at night and spent so long we didn't need to go back the next morning (even though they give you free entrance the next morning so you can see them in the daytime). They are more active... I had some extra time in Santa Elena, so decided to walk over to the Ranario (frog zoo) and take a look. I am glad I did, as the tour was larger and better than i expected. The young man who gave the tour was obviously a student of and very passionate about the frogs and it was a pleasure... More

We had a fascinating tour that started just before dusk and lasted for 2 hours so into darkness. That's when the frogs are most active. Very informative and very well presented. The frogs are fascinating and impossible to see in the wild as so small etc. highly recommended visit.

We were looking for a zip lining experience for young kids - a 4 year old, and an 8 year old with Down Syndrome who can get scared easily. Our hotel recommended the Ranario zip line, which is not very heavily advertised at all. The staff was great, they were very patient and great with the kids. My son was... More
