Yes i have been here several times with friends and relatives and there are frogs in captivity and butterflies a small canopy tour and some insect collections too. It is a nice place to visit during rainy season because they are indoors and you can spend a long time there learning about frogs and some snakes and butterflies and insects... More

$13 for the Ranario with the guide included. And our guide made it worth it! She is very knowledgeable about the terrariums and was very adept at finding the frogs. The poison frogs are active during the day and the nonpoison are active at night so there isn't one brilliant time to come to the Ranario. With your admission you... More

The trick here is to go just the once. Arrive about 5, take yourself around the tanks and you`ll spot half a dozen frogs if you`re lucky. Then at 6 go again with the guide and you`re guaranteed to see plenty, including those you missed that had clearly been right under your nose the first time around. As with most... More

I enjoyed our visit but was not convinced that the housing of the frogs was the best option for viewing them. The frogs are very tiny and behind the glass of the tanks they are difficult to see. Other than this it was a worthwhile visit. Our guide was very patient with us and let us set the pace, the... More

We did a self tour of the Ranario and it wasn't that wonderful. The descriptions were lacking and some didn't even have the name of the frogs in the enclosure. There was an aquarium set up in the front lounge area which had dead frogs floating in it. Something to do after dark, but not really worth the money. We... More

This wasn't our favorite attraction. While they do have a butterfly garden and zip lining we only visited the frog pond. The frogs are all inside of terrariums and most are very small and hard to spot. Be sure to take the tour so the guide can point them out to you, otherwise you'll never find them. My little one... Take the guide ... you'll see nothing otherwise, but the guides are most patient and take time to find the frogs for you within the landscapes of their cages.

This review is for the Frog Pond and Butterfly garden in Santa Elena aka the Monteverde Theme Park. Some of the photos on this page do not seem to match up with this location. I think there is more than one Frog Pond perhaps. This location contains twelve or so big terrariums with different species of frogs in them. A... More

We took our 5 & 6 year old zip lining at Renario because I had read that it was suitable for kids. I was hoping that the kids would not be to scared to try it and they were not! They had guides zip line with them and loved every moment of it.

The butterfly 'garden' is actually greenhouses but you get to see a lot of nice butterflies and it explains about them. The insect museum was interesting and the guide was knowledgeable. We did the frog ponds (aquariums) at night and that was nice - managed to see the frogs in every single one. If you don't have time for all... More
