This was an interesting tour learning a little about, chocolate, coffee and sugar. A ride in the ox cart was a novelty. A family run concernsi the guide was knowledgeable.

I was most disappointed by this tour. It felt like the coffee and sugar plants were props and the farm makes money from its tours only, rather than from the coffee. They have added a chocolate section to the tour but have no chocolate trees on the farm. The guide was informative but in general I was not pleased with... More

Very interesting tour if you are interested in learning about the production of coffee, sugar cane and cocoa. The learning experience is very hands on and the plantation is in a beautiful area. Our guide, Oscar was really friendly, knowledgeable and patient. Only bad part (for us) was the drive there. We drove from Playa Hermosa which took about 4... More

Awesome tour! It was a very hands on experience where we learned how chocolate was made. There was never a dull moment as at each stage of the chocolate making process there was tasting and hands on demonstrations. Really memorable!

El Traphice was great. I feel like this place was the unrecognized savior of our trip - similar to the $10 neck pillows we bought in Houston Intercontinental Airport that gave us a few desperate hours of sleep and saved our relationship. This tour is on a precious stretch of farmland with great views wherein an even more precious tour... More

We signed up for this tour on a friend's recommendation and are very glad we did! It was great - informative, interesting and there was a great view. Our guide was great - he spoke excellent English and even cracked a few jokes. We got to taste coffee (from the bean right through to the final product), sugar cane and... More

While in Monteverde, this was a great activity to do! The place is beautiful, we've learned a lot from our guide Jairo who is really knoledgeable and made our tour an amazing experience! We tried different things and got to see a lot of the process on sugar, coffee and chocolate making! I would advice this tour to anyone visiting... More

Nice tour with three subjects. Sugar cane, coffee and chocolate. It's a family business and it was nice to look around and get a fun and informative tour. The guide was funny. You can make your own sugar and see how the process of making chocolate and coffee works.
