This is a must if you are in the Monteverde area. George made our tour so much fun and full information about coffee, chocolate, and sugar cane.

The guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and funny. I thought doing a coffee tour might be kind of boring and a little cheesy, however this tour was a highlight of my trip to Costa Rica. It covered chocolate, coffee and sugar. It was great!

This hands on tour is really well thought out and showes you what goes into producing Coffee, Coco and Sugar in Costa RIca! Our guide was funny and kept our attention all the way round as he demonstrated at various work stations the various steps! The highlight was tasting the local alcohol they brew and then making fudge from the... More

Our tour was Jorge and we couldn't have asked for someone better. Everything from the coffee to the coco and the sugar cane was very well executed. The ox cart ride was awesome. This is a locally own family business which I loved. Super recommended!

Along with bungee jumping, canopy tours and suspended bridge tour- this was a tour we didn't want to miss and glad we didn't! So informative and loved the hands on experience! Had no idea the cocoa fruit tasted so amazing!!! Just a great overall experience from a very organized company! Thank you!

Loved this family run tour when we visited in 2012. To be able to see, taste and touch the coffee, chocolate and sugar cane process was a real treat. Their property is beautiful and allowed for great photo ops. Highly recommend!

El Trapiche Coffe Tour was more than just listening to a tour guide, who indeed was incredibly knowledgable and good humored. On the tour you see the process of coffee, chocolate, and sugar cane. At each step, you become a part of the process and are able to taste a sample. At the end of the tour you can sip... More

El Trapiche tour was about Sugarcane, coffee and chocolate. Our guide was so interesting and knowledgeable making the tour so fun. We learned a lot and had hands on experiences. Molasses was being made while we were there and we made candy with some of it (with a lump to take with us). We had samples of the coffee after... More

My sister and I both LOVED this tour. We didn't really know what to expect, maybe just a little walk through a sugar plantation and some samples at the end. This tour is so much more! We learned a lot about Costa Rican culture. Tour times are at 10 and 2, if I'm remembering correctly, so plan your day accordingly.... More

My high expectations were exceeded--informative, funny, varied, hands-on. Walking through the farm and seeing / participating in production of cane sugar, chocolate, AND coffee for one price is astounding. We tasted everything and took home a chunk of self hand-made caramelized sugar. Door-to-door transportation. For Cost Rica, all for $32--an excellent value.
