My wife and I recently spent a full day and a half with Roy Orozco of Nature Specialist Tours, in mid Jan '15, mainly touring Carara Nat'l Park and the Tarcoles River, but also Manuel Antonio. It was wonderful! Roy, as both a guide and person, is soft-spoken, friendly and respectful, very knowledgeable and experienced, as well as patient and... More

Hi - I cannot recommend our guide Roy Orozco enough. He knew everything about the animals we found, and find animals we did. Frequently other guides were coming up to Roy asking what he found. We saw howler monkeys, capuchin monkeys, racoons, sloths, snakes, spiders, crabs, frogs, and more !!!! Roy not only knew the animal's ranges, diets, etc -... More

We had a great tour with Roy this past week. Our primary goal was to find a quetzal, and Roy put us on several right away. We had great looks at multiple males and got some excellent pictures. Just a few of the highlights included eight different hummingbird species, acorn woodpecker (one of my favorites), and silver throated tanager. Roy... More

A professional guide is a must if you want to get the most out of your day in Manuel Antonio National Park. Otherwise, you will miss many opportunities to see the wonderful plants and animals of the rainforest. Our guide, Roy Orozco, was very skilled at finding hidden wildlife, insects, flowers, & reptiles along the path through the park. He... More

Barny Sanchez was our bird your guide! His knowledge about birds, plants and Costa Rica was very much appreciated! He's amazing at imitating the birds and call them in. Our highlight was seeing the "King Vulture", an endangered bird! We would highly recommend Barny and Roy who we had as a guide last year! Thank you! Gisela& Joe

We really enjoyed our tour of Manuel Antonio National Park with Roy. It was definitely worth getting a guide, and Roy was very adept at spotting wildlife. We saw two sloths and a troop of monkeys while we were in the park. Also, Roy spotted a green tree snake actually eating a frog which was fascinating. I would highly recommend... More

We just returned from Costa Rica and we had the privilege to spend a morning with Roy at Manuel Antonio Park. His knowledge is second to none and the other guides defer to him. I went with my family which included children ages 16-27. He was able to engage all of them with his endless knowledge and obvious passion for... More

Don't try touring Manuel Antonio National Park without a professional guide. Otherwise, there is no way you will see what the Park has to offer. Our guide, Roy Orozco, made it particularly enjoyable due to his extensive knowledge as a biologist and the technological tools he used to enhance the tour. He not only spotted the flora and fauna of... More

We had a fantastic day birding with Olivier. He was excellent at identifying birds! A great guy to spend a day with. He was also good at helping us to identify field markings. We would heartily recommend him. We birded in Santa Rosa National Park in the morning and the area around Curubande Lodge in the afternoon.

Roy Orozco did a wonderful job putting together a 10-day tour of CR for us. He was unable to lead us himself, and so arranged for a colleague, Johan, to conduct us to five different locations from Pacific lowlands to cloud forests. Johan is a wonderful guide, and led us through beautiful places to see more than 350 species of... More
