I've never been a fan of taking tours, as I prefer to wander around and discover hidden secrets on my own, but my friend was not up to that type of challenge and thus I consented, and was well rewarded. We did three tours with MA Expeditions, all with Juan, our fabulous tour guide who far surpassed expectations in his... More

Our tour was booked through CRneeds.com and Juan, with Manuel Antonio Expeditions, picked the two of us up at our villa. He was our guide during the hike through the forest and canopy. He is very knowledgable of the plant and animal life existing in the primary growth forest and could spot the smallest of wildlife easily. We learned that... More

My wife and I had a fantastic time with Pablo and one of his tour guides, George (Jorge). First, we did the hike through Rainmaker Ecological Preserve with George. It was just my wife and I along with one other person, so we really got a personal tour. You hike through the rainforest over several hanging suspension bridges. Lots of... More

Just came back from just the best tour with Paul / Pablo today. So friendly and so ready to answer questions (no matter how random). And we saw just everything that we wanted to - three and two toed sloths, a cayman, spiders, frogs and lots of monkeys. Without a guide you really would be lost ! Cannot recommend Paul/Pablo... More

Our excellent experience with MA Expeditions started when Juan picked us (my husband and I and 2 "boys", 21 and 18) up at the airport is San Jose. Just on the drive to MA, he stopped to let us enjoy a delicious CR breakfast, shop for fruit and take a view of the crocodiles at "crocodile bridge". He even spotted... More

My husband, two kids (ages 8 and 10), and I first took a guided tour through part of the Manuel Antonio National Park, where we learned about some of the flora and fauna in Costa Rica and saw golden orb spiders, lizards, grasshoppers, three-toed sloths, a potoo bird, and raccoons. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. We also... More

after our anniversary trip five years ago, we returned to Manuel Antonio for a "milestone" birthday and took the kids this time... we booked two excursions through Manuel Antonio Expeditions and had an amazing time -- monkeys, sloths, snakes in trees... we did the mangrove tour with Paul and the park tour with Edgar and had a blast on both...... We usually avoid paying for guides but was extremely happy to have done so at Manuel Antonio Park. Our guide was Katia who is typically stationed nearest the entrance as visitors walk inside the park due to the dominant guide company that will approach you at the parking area and the cashier. Katya is especially great with smaller groups (recommended)... More

Tour was an amazing experience. Beautiful park and all varieties of rain forest animals. Our tour guide, Robert Umańa, was the best and could spot out anything with his scope. Definitely recommend the tour and make sure you ask for Robert if he's availible to be your tour guide. Will definitely go back here when I visit Costa Rica again.

Best part of our trip. Period. Juan provided a fantastic look at wildlife up close (including monkeys on the boat) as well as a wonderful lunch provided by a friend.
