If you need an English-speaking guide, Paul Gonsalves is your man. Having grown up in Toronto, this Costa Rican-Canadian combines his advanced language skills and local knowledge for a day in the tropical forest of Manuel Antonio National Park that you'll never forget. In addition to his prowess as a naturalist guide, he is a delightful human being. Every ten... More

We experienced two tours with Manual Antonio Expeditions earlier this month. First, we visited Manual Antonio National Park. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and was able to show us many animals that we never would have seen on our own. If you don't hire a guide, don't even bother going to this park. The next day, we took the Mangrove... More

We booked a private tour with our guide Juan using the Internet based on his reviews. We were not disappointed. We were on a cruise and he was at the dock as arranged. The walk through Manuel Antonio Park was very informative and we got some terrific pictures with his telescope. Without a guide there is no point in visiting... More

We booked MA expeditions on the advise of the place we were staying (Jungle Creek). Paul (fellow Canadian) came to pick us up around 8:00 am. We decided to follow him in our car so that we could spend some time in the park (and on the beach) after the tour. Paul is very knowledgable and extremely passionate about animals.... More

A tour of the National Park was arranged by our concierge. My first disappointment was the women's bathroom at the start. For the amount of money they charge, the bathroom was very primitive without even a seat on the toilet. We were of the understanding that we would see some animals up close and personal but that was not the... More

We had two amazing guided tours with Manuel Antonio Expeditions – a hike in MA Park and a mangrove boat tour (on two separate days). Both tours were outstanding. This is an exceptionally well run tour company that is staffed by expert naturalist guides who are highly adept at sharing their extensive knowledge and passion of the local flora, fauna... More

We enjoyed our guided tour of Manuel Antonio and did get to see quite a bit of wildlife. 3 types of monkeys, 2 typed sloths, birds, bats, & spiders of various variety and of course the magnificent beach and hiking trails. The spotting scope the guides carry really helps you find the animals that are way up in the trees.... More

Our house manager booked us two separate tours with Pablo (Paul) through Manuel Antonio Expeditions. The first tour was a walk through Manuel Antonio National Park. Pablo pointed out creatures we would have never seen on our own with his spotting scope. We ended at the beaches which were very beautiful, with lots of monkeys and raccoons. The next day... More

We greatly enjoyed our guided tour of Manuel Antonio Park with Edgar! He was so friendly, funny, and knowledgeable! He knew so much about each animal and was able to help us see and get great pictures of them all! We were able to see 3 types of monkeys, 2 types of sloths, numerous lizards, birds, deer, and more! Without... More

The mangrove boat ride is a fantastic excursion to take during your time in Costa Rica. Paul was excellent in making sure we got the full experience. Do you want to play with the Costa Rica monkeys as we had a blast with the monkeys! We also saw a lot of unique animals including the silky anteater, blue heron, and... More
