This is one of the best vacation spots that I have ever visited. It is beautiful. There are plenty of things to do. The people are lovely The food is amazing. The beach is spectacular. I was there about three weeks ago, and the sweet sound of the beach hasn't left me yet.

I read reviews about rocky beaches, but it was nice soft sand, and warm water. My son took private surf lessons while we walked the beach. On our way out of town we checked out the beach by our hotel, both had nice sandy areas.

Nice and not very expensive place. Only two hrs from San Jose. The services, food, accommodation are O.K. and not very over priced. Nice beach, western style town. Minus is only too many teenagers - tourist with marijuana and alcohol around.

My family had fun exploring this little beach town, shopping and learning to surf. The beach was nice dark sand and clean.

Jaco beach is where I learned to surf through my Spanish and surfing school. I always saw people swimming but not too many were hanging out for the day, it just gets so hot during the middle of the day! But there are always surfers!!

After hearing so many negative things about Jaco and the beach itself, I was hesitant to visit this beach town during our stay in Costa Rica. In fact, I managed to avoid it for the first week. However, we eventually made our way down to Jaco and I was very surprised. I thought the main road was very quaint and... More

Our family found Jaco to be a safe & fun beach and surf town. There is definitely an ex pat presence but still feels somewhat authentic to its Costa Rican roots. Really convenient to loads of tourist destinations and activities. Loved walking the beach.

We went here for a surf lesson. The waves are a nice size for beginners and we may well come back here for our next vacation. When we were there we had the place almost to ourselves.

Relativelu undeveloped beach with brown sand and gravel. Very different than most beaches in the states. It's a surfers paradise, but it's also very relaxing. Jacos a small place so the beach never seems to be crowded.

We walked to the beach to watch the sunset which was spectacular. There were many locals on the beach eating , drinking, and enjoying the sunset. There was also lots of trash. The beach is a coarse, volcanic, almost gravel, in some spots. We were warned about the rip tides at this beach, not to venture very far out and... More
