We stopped randomly, fooled by the overuse of signage along the highway, to find this unfortunate place. Too bad I didn't look at Trip Advisor reviews first, I could have saved $40 ($20 per person) or donated it to charity, or thrown it out the car window. This is total tourist trap, very amateur and mainly just lame. Just continue... More

Avoid this place like a mosquito with dengue virus ! Complete tourist trap. Do not even venture up the road because you will get trapped like a tourist rat. The place is run down and had 3 butterflies in total! Warning that at the end of the road you will fork over $20 USD pp for the nothing. Travel to... More

My husband and I stopped here while traveling through and had a great time. Our guide Randall was excellent. He was extremely knowledgable and knew how to work my camera better than I could so we went home with some awesome pictures. He even showed me tricks to focus properly. He spent a lot of time doing show-and-tell with each... More

We saw frogs, snakes, turtles, butterflies and a baby monkey. Our guide was wonderful and spent a lot of time with us, ensuring we got great pictures.

This is a refuge, where they have not ony the expo of frogs, snakes and butterflies, but also study and treat damaged animals. Stuff is very friendly, telling interesting biology story about snakes and frog life. They gave us to hold some of them, and take photos. It was a rainy season, so no luck with butterflies, but saw turtles.... More

It wasn't worth the cost of $20 a person. The tour was really short and we didn't see much, and the cages with the frogs and snakes were really run down and dirty. We were the last tour of the day and the guide kept telling us that he had done too many tours that day. I'm really not sure... More

We spent some time here when we were looking for the zipline course, and the staff were very frinedly and helpful. They let us hold little Cesar, the orphan monkey they are caring for, and were informative. Thanks much!

My daughter Cailyn wanted to go to Neo Fauna for her birthday she has been twice before. We just love going and learning about all the wildlife in Costa Rica. Josymar was a wonderful guide and very knowledgeable. All the Butterflies were beautiful too.

This is an attraction that is close to Jaco and doesn't take long to go through, so it's fits in easily. Honestly, unless you're really into butterflies and snakes, you don't want the tour to be much longer anyway. Randall is a really engaging and funny guide (kind of like a Costa Rican Jack Black). You get to see butterflies... More

On our honeymoon touring around Costa Rica we had the best luck veering off the path to these small roadside attractions. When we saw the signs for Neo Fauna I knew we had to stop. Driving up the mountain road we approached the small rustic shop to find our future tour guide, Randall, taking a siesta after his lunch on... More
