The staff at Jaco Surf School was super friendly and welcoming to a beginning surfer. Located right on the beach, as soon as I walked up, looking a bit timid, one of the employees immediately started to chat me up, but was not pushy at all. He told me about their services and prices, and answered my questions without being... More

Me and my friend has a great time at jaco surf school, Gustavo and his staff were really warm and nice, and the lesson was the best surfing lesson I ever took! The teachers we had were very good, explained very well and were patient with us, especially Tony who was also very funny :) we had a break after... More

The first time we walked up to Jaco beach we were greeted by Jaco Surf School workers who were very polite, not pushy, and very intriguing. The invited my husband and I to their busy tent and explained their service: $50 per person for a beginners lesson which consists of about 15-20 minutes on land and about an hour in... More

We (one kid of mine and two borrowed) took lessons from Gus and his boys a few weeks ago. We were all first-time surfers (ages 18, 20, 21 and 53), and by the end of the lesson we were all able to stand and ride. Gus knows his stuff (an experienced surfer and teacher), and his staff is capable and... More

I was privileged enough to get surfing lessons from Jaco Surf School's owner Gustavo Castillo. Gus has been surfing for over 30 years & has won championships around the world. His team is very knowledgeable and helped me learn to love the sport of surfing. I highly recommend!

Gustavo runs a really good organization with very good instructors. Our kids (ages 10 and 8) had no previous surfing experience and they were each surfing quite well within a few minutes of getting in the water! They first have a dry-land instruction where they teach people the proper form and techniques. Soon thereafter they are in the water with... More

Some friends invited me to take surf lessons in Jaco three weeks ago an I said yes because I was trying to find a sport that can be practice with my 14 years old son Sebastian. Finally we start with a little nervous but the teacher Gustavo gave us trust every tip and recommendation was very clear so after a... More

We were able to get same day lessons for our group of 8. Gustavo (retired pro) and his crew of instructors were great with each member of our group, which ranged in age from 6 to 42. By the end of the 2 hour lesson, everyone had managed the "stand up" surf position. Most of the children in our group... More
