Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls is unique in Costa Rica. It is truly a "Visual Masterpiece". The gardens begin with the natural beauty of Costa Rica and four waterfalls in the property with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. To this millions of plants, flowers and orchids from all over the world have been added. Manicured walkways meander long a river and at the crest of the mountain which make the entire 50 acre gardens accessible to all. Have lunch in our restaurant and browse the gift shop that offers authentic Costa Rica gifts.

We were part of Celebrity Cruise lines cruise from San Diego, through the Panama Canal, landing in Ft Lauderdale. Costa Rica was a port of call. Our excursion took us to Pura Vida Gardens/Waterfalls for our noon meal an tour of the gardens. The food was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the Tilapia, black beans and rice and the plantains. Also... More

My husband and I visited Puravida in March 2015. The temperature was well over 30 degrees and very humid. This is the dry season. We were met by the owner of this conservation rainforest and gardens, who welcomed us. Our tour guide made our walk very interesting indeed. Recommend suitable walking shoes, light clothing, insect repellant, sun cream, sun hat... More

The gardens are at the top of the mountain and as such offer fabulous views down the valley towards the coast and also from the adventure dining area over towards the waterfall. The gardens themselves have a wonderful diversity of plants, all beautifully maintained. In such a climate plants grow do quickly so it is a tribute to the small... More

This was an awesome place, off the beaten path, and great for birders. We saw more than 15 Macaw pairs, a Toucan and various other birds while we were there. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the food was very good. it was well worth the drive up the gravel road, you won't be sorry.

A beautiful paradise located on a mountain-top near Jaco. Tough to find but well worth the trip. I hope the owners read this review - you definitely need better signage to guide people into your attraction. It is located on the top of a mountain up a dirt road. You can't believe what a paradise is hidden at the top... More

The gardens are beautiful and well cared for. The view to the coast is breathtaking. It is worth the 5 km drive off the main road. The $20 per person price tag is a little expensive and the view of the water fall is a bit disappointing. There is however a restaurant on site "adventure dining". If you make a... More

We got there as the gates opened, and birded for a couple of hours with good results. Lovely place, well maintained, great views. Well worth visiting for those who love birds and/or flowers.

The drive up the mountain is on a rutted gravel road. Our van (and I mean van) driver's clutch went out about a mile away so had to sit in middle of road for a few minutes. The gardens are stunningly beautiful. Every step is filled with colorful flowers, bushes, and trees. Wear bug spray around your ankles because when... More

Have just returned from a trip to Costa Rica which included a most enjoyable visit to the Pura Vida Gardens. They are completely stunning, wonderful plants, shrubs and trees, many of them in flower. The gardens are situated high up with wonderful views over the surrounding forest. Scarlet Macaws and other birds and butterflies were flying around adding to the... More
