Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls is unique in Costa Rica. It is truly a "Visual Masterpiece". The gardens begin with the natural beauty of Costa Rica and four waterfalls in the property with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. To this millions of plants, flowers and orchids from all over the world have been added. Manicured walkways meander long a river and at the crest of the mountain which make the entire 50 acre gardens accessible to all. Have lunch in our restaurant and browse the gift shop that offers authentic Costa Rica gifts.

This excursion was great! You get to walk through rain forest and watch for birds and other wild life. While on the walk you get to walk across numerous sky bridges which was very exciting! The excursion also includes a nice lunch with a beautiful view, and walk through the 'Pura Vida' garden.

We love this place, and next time would likely stay overnight in order to see more. We arrived at 1 pm, and due to the shorter days, that wasnt nearly enough time. We enjoyed the buffet lunch, and the hardest decision was what to do in the time we had. As families with younger children, we chose to view the... More

The flowers, trees, other landscaping and vistas are all just absolutely beautiful! And this is inside a rainforest adjacent to Carara National Park, on a dirt road 6 km past Villa Lapas Hotel where I stayed. It is also a great distant view of the waterfall which is easier than hiking to it! :-)

Booked this excursion through our cruiseline. The guide, Roy was excellent. He gave a nice history of CR. He was friendly, and knowledgable. We felt safe with him. He even let us walk across the bridge at "Crocodile River". The Gardens are lovely. We only had about 2 hours there, and wanted more time. We had a buffet of fruits,... More

I reviewed Pura Vida last year when we stopped before reaching the top and took Martine's word that is was only 45 minutes to the view and we said we'd never do that to ourselves again but this year we had to go to the top; just to see what we might have missed.... Nothing!! We are so glad we... More

Definitely worth a visit. Breath-taking views (but, depending on the time of year, the waterfall maybe won't live up to expectations). Sub-tropical plants we are more used to seeing in conservatories or greenhouses will make your average gardener green with envy. Lovely place to wander around - and the food was pretty good as well - but our visit was... More

Admission to this gardens and waterfalls was pretty expensive considering there weren't a lot of waterfalls and they weren't very close. Very beautiful flowers and gardens with winding paths. Some paths were paved and pretty steep, others were more natural and still very steep. The biggest claim to fame at this place was there Adventure Dining experience. For $150 per... More

There were promises of seeing wild animals, birds of all kinds, but in the 2 hour tour we were on, only saw 1 *ONE* bird, so don't waste your money. But if you go, go in the morning, for it rains almost every afternoon & then you'll see nothing more than just rain. The jungle is thick but, it's not... More
