Type: Gardens, Waterfalls, Nature & Parks
Owner description: Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls is unique in Costa Rica. It is truly a "Visual Masterpiece". The gardens begin with the natural beauty of Costa Rica and four waterfalls in the property with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. To this millions of plants, flowers and orchids from all over the world have been added. Manicured walkways meander long a river and at the crest of the mountain which make the entire 50 acre gardens accessible to all. Have lunch in our restaurant and browse the gift shop that offers authentic Costa Rica gifts.

More touristy, but everything is here and very educational. Of course our guide from Green Path was most of the education. There was a butterfly house, aviary where you could hold the toucans, big cats, waterfalls and many other sites. Beautiful grounds and well groomed & clean. The cat cages were well maintained, but a bit small for them. Not... More

the gardens are amazing and the waterfall is very pretty, we didn't stay to eat there, it is a bit pricy for what you see though..

The family hiked to the waterfalls and found the splendor well worth the effort. The family who watch over this jewel were truly friendly and happy to see the joy our small group experienced!

It's not easy to find. The GPS doesn't recognize the address and the marking is very subtle. But when you find it you are rewarded by spectacular views and beautiful garden. This is a gem and we are very glad that we went. The $15 fee is almost nothing, especially considering how much overhead must be to maintain this beautiful... More

We went to the gardens last week with our 2 boys. (8/9) We all enjoyed the walk through the gardens and "jungle" to see the waterfall. With two boys, we are always moving and this was great for them. The small restaurant and gift shop was very clean, quick and nice. We ordered before out hike so our food would... More

We visited this site from a Celebrity Panama Canal cruise Shore Excursion tour. Activities of tour included lunch at Pura Vida and tour of the gardens. Not certain what their actual charge is to view the gardens, but if I had to pay $20, I might be a teeny bit disappointed. However, if you can access the gardens free if... More

If you are in the Jaco area and only have so much time I would skip this but if you are looking for beautiful views and some Costa Rican adventure (the road to get there) then this is for you. I will probably only go once. My grandsons enjoyed holding the birds and seeing the rare frog on one of... More

We took the tour from our cruise ship. We were met at the dock and driven to the gardens by our guide Eric Munoz in a 4-wheel drive vehicle. We found out quickly after a 30 minute drive to the road up the mountain that during certain times it's the only way to get to the top! Another 30 minutes... More

This is quite a peaceful place. Beautiful and lush plants flowers everywhere. Soon after I got there, it started raining heavy, which made some parts of the pathway slippery. So, watch out for that. Even though the walkways are paved, they can be slippery at some parts. You see the waterfall from the top, which is still an excellent view.... More
