Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls is unique in Costa Rica. It is truly a "Visual Masterpiece". The gardens begin with the natural beauty of Costa Rica and four waterfalls in the property with spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean. To this millions of plants, flowers and orchids from all over the world have been added. Manicured walkways meander long a river and at the crest of the mountain which make the entire 50 acre gardens accessible to all. Have lunch in our restaurant and browse the gift shop that offers authentic Costa Rica gifts.

The drive up the mountain is on a rutted gravel road. Our van (and I mean van) driver's clutch went out about a mile away so had to sit in middle of road for a few minutes. The gardens are stunningly beautiful. Every step is filled with colorful flowers, bushes, and trees. Wear bug spray around your ankles because when... More

Have just returned from a trip to Costa Rica which included a most enjoyable visit to the Pura Vida Gardens. They are completely stunning, wonderful plants, shrubs and trees, many of them in flower. The gardens are situated high up with wonderful views over the surrounding forest. Scarlet Macaws and other birds and butterflies were flying around adding to the... More

My wife and I booked the from our cruise. What a beautiful place. Bus ride was long but worth it. For those with some walking issues be careful. Many up and down hill paths. The place was more than expected with beautiful views of the country and hillsides. We had fresh fruit at the conclusion of the tour. It was... More

We had a guide that also knew a good deal about plants. The gardens are well maintained and have a wonderful variety of beautiful plants and trees. I will go again if in Costa Rica.

What a great tour! We did lunch, then a tour of the bird houses, the monkeys, the cats and then on to the water falls. It was a nice, leisurely trip around the property which took a good 4 hours. We'll go again next time we visit.

Had heard this was a must see and it is beautiful. Be prepared for the rough road in if you are traveling in by car. We had the place to ourselves. Breathtaking views and the gardens are beautiful Owner was there and very pleasant to talk to.

We spent our last day in Costa Rica at the Pura Vida Gardens and Waterfalls and it was a great way to wrap up a great trip. The turn-off to the gardens is just past the bridge on the right when you're going north on the highway. The sign is a fairly small black & white lettered sign. Tourist maps... More

The drive up the mountainside on a dirt road that was not in great condition was not for the overly nervous, but the view and gardens are worth it.

More touristy, but everything is here and very educational. Of course our guide from Green Path was most of the education. There was a butterfly house, aviary where you could hold the toucans, big cats, waterfalls and many other sites. Beautiful grounds and well groomed & clean. The cat cages were well maintained, but a bit small for them. Not... More

the gardens are amazing and the waterfall is very pretty, we didn't stay to eat there, it is a bit pricy for what you see though..
