We were on a narrow peninsula with the ocean on one side and the river on the other. It was quite rustic... More

We visited in early May, and unfortunately the turtles had finished their nesting for the year. Still, we enjoyed the trip and saw some great things. We need to come back during the prime nesting time. NOTE: Just a reminder to those who have probably read this is other reviews...be wary of private tours. We ignored the prevailing wisdom and... We saw many kinds of birds, lizards, monkeys, and tree sloths from a tour boat. We spent a couple of hours in Tortuguero Village. More

Loved scouting for wildlife and birds along the canals with a guide. The trail inside the park itself isn't that exciting, just go walk the beach on your own. More

This park is a national treasure, unspoiled by surrounding civilization. The only way into the park is by water or airplane. We came in by boat, and I would highly recommend this way in. from the very moment you get into the boat to go the park you get the feeling you are really in the rain forest. There is... More

It's wonderful how they're protecting the park and everyone seems concerned and up for sustaining the ecosystem. It's an amazing wildlife habitat that should be preserved. Well worth doing tours in both canoe and motor boat. More

This park is teeming with wild life and our visit was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. It was not Turtle viewing season but there is still lots of other animals and birds to see. More

Takeone of the jungle cruises as long as it is not pouring down rain. You can get right up to the animals that the guides are able to spot even though you might not see anything on your own. More
