Definitely a beach to go in Costa Rica, With a very nice mixture of caribbean cultures, this place have an amazing atmosphere. Unfortunately is managed and control mostly by foreigners and some people said it's unsafe, which I never felt. There are none facilities as bathrooms and things like that. We went here to catch the sunset. It was definitely a pretty place, and a couple of the bigger restaurants with live music were nice, but I did get the distinct impression that tourists with cameras should clear out by evening. Its a bit sketchy, don't take valuables and watch your back. Very pretty views though. More

We enjoyed our strolls along this beach and because it was the "off season" were even offered the use of lounge chairs and hammocks of a local resort that had no apparent guests! Water was warm with lots of sand bars for easy wading! More

The beach was crowded and not very clean, a little like Jaco if you have been there. More

This part of the world is unlike anything I've ever experienced. The beach is so amazingly warm, sun shining down or rain pouring heavliy. Any time of day is Paradise in Puerto Viejo. Surrounded by shops where people sell goods from all over the world, this beach is a lot of fun. Good to swim in as well. More

The Carribean ocean is the best and in Puerto Viejo, the water was warm, cleaner than most shores, and not too crowded! More
