This place is absolutely amazing- totally worth the time and only $15! You get to hold monkeys and see baby sloths close up. They had many other animals including tree frogs, tucans, snakes, other reptiles, and a baby ocelot. The guide was very friendly and informative. I would HIGHLY recommend going if you are in Puerto Viejo! More

These people are really trying to save some wild animals and get them released back into the wild as fast as the animals are ready to go. They do a nice job to show you a lot of snakes, sloths, birds, monkeys and a few cats. They give a lot of good information. It's worth a couple of hours. The... More

Holding the baby howler monkeys and seeing baby sloths up close - this is a great sanctuary for abandoned animals - show your support and please visit. You will see animals close up that most visitors to CR only dream of seeing in the wild! More

This place was great to see baby and orphaned animals. Some had been injured and the staff seemed to really care for the animals. Our guide was informative and funny. I enjoyed learning about why the animals were there and when they will be released. A must do if in Puerto Viejo. More

We had high expectations for this place after reading all the great reviews, and were not disappointed. The animals were well cared for and our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. The highlight--as others have mentioned--was the encounter with the howler monkeys. It wasn't for a very long time, but we had the opportunity to let these animals crawl around on... More

A "good work" being done that affords tourists a close up look at local wildlife. However, for a more natural experience of those same animals and more I recommend a walk through Cahuita National Park. More

My husband and I are super friends of the animals, so this place was a real treat. There were several people attending when we visited, so the staff divided the group to give everyone a more personal tour. Our guide, Robbie, was informative and lots of fun. The center is a rescue and release facility, so there's no telling exactly... More

I really enjoyed the tour at the Jaguar Rescue Center. Our guide was a local, and shared with us how much he has learned and how his perspective has changed since beginning to volunteer and then work at the rescue center. The Jaguar Rescue Center is a much needed area for healing and rehabilitation for many injured animals in the... More
