This Jaguar sanctuary doesn't actually have any jaguars, so don't be fooled. However it is a wildlife rescue center that injured or sick wildlife gets taken care of, and if possible released back into the wild. It's run by volunteers so any money given goes towards helping take care of the animals which range from monkeys, snakes, deer, hawks, wild... More

Baby sloth, baby howler monkeys, baby margay, baby anteater, baby white-faced monkeys, baby owls, baby raccoons...cuteness overload!! You get your money's worth here in close encounters with an incredibly diverse array of animals. The tour is interesting and informative, with committed volunteers describing the wildlife in detail. It takes about 1.5 hours or so, and is well worth every penny.... More

Out of everything we did in Costa Rica over 2 weeks this was the best! Great for any age and I actually had a baby deer come up and lick my hand!

Don't let the name fool you. This rescue has mostly baby howler monkeys and they are adorable. You get to go into a caged area with them and they will come down and "visit" you. One fell asleep in my arms. You can't take cameras in the pen. Don't take anything that the monkeys could possibly steal... They will take... More

Really heartwarming to see what people will do to help animals. Run by mainly volunteers was great experience. Loved the baby monkeys. They appear to work with local people to make the project a success. Go see the center and great for kids of all ages!

Staff very educated, facility very clean, and animals treated incredibly well. We were very inspired and had so much fun. Really cool learning about their release system. Highlight of our trip for sure :)

This was the only chance we got to see local fauna in Costa Rica. The name is misleading; they have no jaguars (currently) and offer rescue services to any animals. We saw owls, monkeys, raccoons, margays, a puma, seagull, parrots, anteater, agouti, etc. $18 for a tour of about 1 1/2 hours. This facility does fantastic work and is supported... More

This tour was one I least looked forward to on our recent trip to Costa Rica due to my distaste in zoos and the like, but I was blown away at how amazing this place was. The animals were beautiful and the volunteer guides were wonderful and knowledgeable and the animals looked very happy, and I was extremely satisfied to... More

We hadn't originally planned on visiting the Jaguar Rescue Center, but when our snorkeling trip was cancelled because of sea conditions, many locals recommended we visit JRC. We were on our honeymoon, so we splurged for a private tour - and it turned out to best one of the highlights of our trip! The JRC rehabilitates wildlife (often injured, orphaned,... More
