One of our stops last month on a 12 day cruise was Limon, Costa Rica. We picked the shore excursion through our ship that would take us to the Veragua Rainforest. Our tour guide gave us interesting information about the city and the country on the drive up into the mountains. At the rainforest entrance, we were divided into groups... More

We visited Veragua as an excursion from our Cruise Ship. it was a farily bumpy coach ride to the Park but our guide was able to poiint out a number of interesting sights on the way on on the way back incuding sloths. Our excursion included a visit to the research centre, a walk through the rainforest, a canopy ariel... More

My parents and I did the Veragua tram tour. We split into two groups because there was a 400 step (round trip) hike to see a waterfall. While on the tour we saw snakes, reptiles, frogs, toads, a butter fly sanctuary and a two toed sloth. Catia was a wonderful guide and gave us a good idea of what life... More

This eco stop is well worth the visit. Butterflies, toads, rain forest vegetation, all exhibits well done with informative guides.

The canopy tour is a great insight into the workings of the rain forest without boots on the ground in the depth of the Amazon. The great thing is that when they've developed this attraction they have done so in the most sustainable way possible and once out of the modest built up area and on the canopy tour the... More

On the way to the Rainforest we were given a very detailed briefing about Costa Rica and what to expect on out arrival by our tour op rep.On arrival we were all given wristbands as there were different groups on the tour from other buses. We were assigned a 2nd year biologist,Johnny was very knowledgeable about the species we encountered, snakes on... Our guide, Carlos, was SO knowledgeable. He did not rush us thru the tour. Whenever he was asked a question, he stopped and FULLY explained the answer to us. We learned and saw a lot while on this tour and the easy ride of the trams to the bottom of the rainforest was wonderful as well, especially as we glided... More

Worth the long taxi ride from Limon. We did the full tour (research centre + canopy tour + lunch) and it was worth every penny. As the only English-speaking tourists there that day we got a private tour; our guide was immensely knowledgeable, talking us through the snakes, frogs, insects and trees surrounding the place. He also showed us the... More

We visited as a part of a cruise package. First the ride there gives a great view of the countryside. The park itself is great. The exhibits give a fine overview of the ecosystem. The flora and fauna are exceptional. We even had a chance to visit with one of the researchers in the park. On our way back to... More

We were not sure of what to expect of this half day excursion as we do not normally like "BusTours". However we both really enjoyed our trip to the Rain forest preserve. By far the most informative guide we have worked with in a long time. [Carlos I believe] Being able to see a Monkey, Snake and Sloth in the... More
