The place is no as big as most can imagine, and the tour lasts about two hours, but it is a great experience, the sloths are very adorable, interesting and funny creatures and you get to see them real close, even babies and no, you can't take one baby home :). The tour guide is very knowledgeable and kept things... More

I stayed here for 1 night with my girlfriend and did the Insider tour. Our Buttercup room had a massive bed and air con so we were happy with it. The grounds of the sanctuary are nice to walk around and we spotted lots of birds, lizards and crabs. We both enjoyed the boat tour. The guide didn't know English... More

We enjoyed our tour of the Sloth Sanctuary. You spend the first hour learning about the Sloths and the sanctuary. You get to meet a few of the sloths during the presentation and also see the baby sloths which were very cute. The second hour is a canoe trip which we really enjoyed. Our guide was outstanding at showing us... More

I enjoyed our visit to the sloth sanctuary very much so! We got to see two rooms. In the first one there were 4 adult sloths. Our guide gave us lots of information. Very interesting animals! In the second room we got to see baby sloths, soon cute :-) We didn't get to hold them. But the guide brought one... More

Nice thing todo if you have a few hours to spare, you can get on any bus heading to limon and ask them to stop at the sloth centre it is on the right with big signs and pictures of sloths 11km from cahuita. It's quite expenisve for $30 you get a boat ride which can be hit and miss... More

This place does amazing work to protect these unique creatures. I highly recommend also taking the canoe ride through the jungle. Very relaxing.

Today we were disappointed by the weather so decided to go off to the sloth sanctuary. It was really good - a bit expensive at 30 dollars entry but I guess it's part donation too. The only negative is that it's a bit hard to find from cahuita if you don't drive and taxis charge a fortune. The boat ride... More

Absolutely loved going to this place! I only did the basic tour but it was still fantastic. I have wanted to visit this place for years and when my family decided to go to Costa Rica I was obviously ecstatic, and this place did not disappoint! The staff are very knowledgable and the talks are really interesting. Getting to see... More

What a great place to go! I've learnt so much about sloths! Our guide shared many interesting facts about them and answered all of our questions thoroughly. For $15 you can get a relaxing canoe ride for around an hour and then you get to meet and spend another hour with the sloths. Our canoe driver was pointing out jungle... More

We got to see Buttercup, the grand dame of the sanctuary, along with many more adult sloths and baby sloths. We were close enough to touch them. They no longer let you hold them as sloths become tachycardic (rapid heart rate) when held by strangers, and we don't want to cause any medical stress to these beautiful creatures. I have... More
