The sanctuary is a must-see in my opinion. These creatures are adorable, funny-looking, friendly and admirable, and the conservation work is to be admired. It is quite steep, $25 for admission, although the money goes towards a good cause. For the tour price they also include a boat ride which is a little random and long too, but we got... More

I absolutely love Sloths and if I was marking it simply on them of course it would get top marks, and its hard to not recommend the sanctuary as they were so cute. However not only is the tour way too expensive: $25 is more than you would pay for some top zoos, which you could spend a long day... More

This was my second visit to the sanctuary and my love and respect for this place has not diminished. The people who work there are completely devoted to helping injured or abandoned sloths and at the same time are doing serious research on these poorly understood creatures. The setting is beautiful, the sloths are fascinating and the canoe ride included... More

I was very very disappointed by the Sloth sanctuary. It is very expensive and it is more a business than a real place to help animals. The boat ride is nice but what's the point ? Probably to justify the 25$. It was very not well organized. I missed the beginning of the tour because the guy from the boat... More

The Sloth Sanctuary was one of my main reasons for visiting Costa Rica and it was worth every penny. You MUST do the insider's tour, it is great way to be able to interact with the sloths and get a behind the scenes glimpse of how the operation is run. Jeff was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable and... More

Our tour was really haphazard and disorganized. The required tour takes about two hours - 45 mins on the boat and another hour seeing the sloths. However, they alternate every hour so that the group at 10am coming off the boats joins the group at 11am to see the sloths, and then the 11am group takes their boat ride afterwards.... More

I felt it was more a business than a place to help animals considering the expensive price of 25$. The boat ride was nice though and I admit the sloths were cute.

This sloth sanctuary was the whole reason we came to Costa Rica, and it didn't disappoint! We did the "insider's tour." Yes--it is more expensive, but you get to interact with the sloths much more, and the money is a donation to the sanctuary, anyway! We were SO impressed by the canoe ride, too. In fact, we all thought it... More
