We really enjoyed learning about these unusual animals. Feel like I I earned a lots about the beautiful critters. Well worth the time involved in the tour. Will do this tour next trip down here.

I went to the sanctuary a couple of weeks ago while visiting Cahuita. I'm a yearly visitor to Cahuita and decided it was time to come. I'm glad I went but agree with some of the concerns expressed here. The cost of $25 for the basic tour isn't really worth what you get. You see six sloths that are permanent... More

We did enjoy some things about the Sanctuary, like getting to see sloths up close. The first part of the tour is spent on the river, which was fine, but could have been about half the time (we were actually on the river for almost an hour and a half...spent 30 minutes "parked" watching monkeys). It felt like they want... More

We had a great time at the sloth sanctuary. The tour is absolutely worth it. The canoe trip down the river was fun, we saw sloths, lizards, crabs, and bats as well as gorgeous plants. Then the tour through the facilities was very educational, the guides knew their stuff and everyone at the place was so friendly and clearly loved... More

This sanctuary is wonderfull, the warm actitude from the people that received us was fantastic, the introduction into the world of sloths is clear, graphic, the visit to the nursery and the baby sloths touched our hearts. After, the dugout trip through nice waterways where we could see aligators, wild sloths, basilisks, birds let you enjoy the natural taste of... More

We knew we would fall in love with the sloths--but we didn't expect that our little boat tour would turn into one of our most awesome wildlife viewing experiences (howler monkeys, more sloths, beautiful birds, turtles, etc.)! The staff was not just wonderful, but inspiring. My kids were in heaven. If I were rich I would make a big donation... More

One of the best experiences of my life!! Planned on this trip for so long and it didn't disappoint! Everything was great. The shared room we got with our friends was huge and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious and the staff was amazing. The tour of the facility was truly inspirational. I wish more people knew the plight of the... More

A bit pricey, but it goes to a good cause. They let us feed the sloths and get up close to many of them. The only thing that would have made it better would be if we could have gotten to hold some, but this was a highlight of our trip. Very educational!

We visited the sanctuary and have been very disappointed by the visit. During the visit no effort is made to give any factual information about the sloths. The animals are presented as teddy bears, humanised, treated like babies with their mummy being the carer. The first half of the 2 hour visit is spent on a river with not a... More

My daughter and I visited and stayed at the sanctuary. We paid extra and did the 'behind the scenes tour'. Our room was clean and cool (thanks to air-conditioning) and our breakfast and lunch were lovely. The tour was awesome. Our boat guide paddled us lazily along the river/stream on the sanctuary's property, pointing out flora and fauna as we... More
