My wife and I spent an afternoon at the lovely La Paz Waterfall Gardens in February 2012. The people there are very helpful...as was our general experience in CR. This is a great place to see the animals you are not likely to see while trekking in the rain forest because they're so illusive. The lunch was reasonably nice in... More

Very hard to get to but where else can you have a hummingbird eat of out your hand or stand right next to one of about a dozen toucans.....or see 2 of the most pristine waterfalls you will ever set your eyes on? Amazing place-- immaculately maintained; Be prepared to spend at least a half day there; More

I will admit that I am a bit jaded since I am from the Disney area. This park has artificial rocks, caged animals. That said, it allows you to see a lot of the wildlife that Costa Rica offers. They have a buffet that was average. The road to the attraction has some beautiful vistas, but it is rough and... More

My husband and I visited the gardens as our last excursion before leaving Costa Rica. What a way to end the trip!!! You start out by walking through the animal exhibits: Birds, monkeys, butterflies, jungle cats, and more. Then you stop for a buffet style lunch before continuing on to the waterfalls. WOW! WOW! Absolutely gorgous!!! There is one waterfall... More

We hesitated to spend the $35 to see "some waterfalls." But, we were very surprised by how comprehensive the place was. Not only did we see waterfalls, but there were 10 animal exhibits: monkeys, jungle cats, butterflies, hummingbirds, frogs, snakes, sloths, and more birds. The orchid and bromeliad displays were very well done. The trails were lovely. And the old... More

Going through the pictures (that I took on my iPhone!), I just cannot get over how beautiful this place was. The photos look professionally done because the flora and fauna are so vivid and lush. Even though we got drenched (it happens in the cloud forest, I'm told), we had a fantastic time there. More

My husband and I re-visited La Paz in March 2012 to see how they had recovered from the earthquake in 2009. We had loved the waterfall gardens when we first visited prior to the earthquake, but wanted to see what changes had occured since. If possible, it was even more beautiful than originally. This would also be a great destination... More

You do not want to miss this attraction. The attraction includes a wonderful display of birds, butterflys, frogs, snakes, orchids and then the waterfalls. The butterfly house is the best we have ever seen in the world and we have been to wonderful houses is Canada and the US. The birds were really wonderful. Going down to see the waterfalls... More
