Though it is difficult to get to, it is worth the trip. We were only going to stay one night, but decided to stay a second. The staff here was excellent especially Isaac (worked in reception) and Anna (tour guide). The deluxe rooms have to be the coolest rooms I have ever stayed in. They have lights that can be... more

The trip up to the gardens was long and bumpy but mostly due to the damage from the earthquake. They are working very hard at getting back up to par though. The place is beautiful and there are many things to do there: Butterfly garden, hummingbirds, tropical birds, frogs, snakes, sloths, big cats, waterfalls, and a restaurant. The toucans will... more

La Paz Waterfall Gardens was so much fun for our family and the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. It was a little hard to find since we were driving on our own, but with a little asking for directions, we made it. They could use a few more signs along the roadway pointing in the right direction. On... more

My husband and I visited their gardens last year and loved it, so we took the whole family back this year because we thought it would be especially great for the kids, where we could guarantee some wildlife and waterfalls. I commend them for trying to reopen after the destruction of the earthquake earlier this year, but we feel that... more

This was easily the most amazingly beautiful site I have ever seen! The waterfalls were beyond compare!! And if that weren't enough, there was also a fabulous butterfly garden, where butterflies would frequently land one's hand -- much to the delight of my small children. There was also a hummingbird garden, where my kids were able to get inches away... more

Worth the price of admission (somewhere around $30/person). We spent the whole day there, but it could easily be done in half a day. They have a shuttle that will bring you back to the main building after you've walked the waterfall trail, but if you have the time, walk back up the trail and then take the river trail... more

I visited the waterfall garden last month with my husband. After reading the reviews, I expected it to be like Disney World, I am glad I did not take the reveiws too seriously. I found the park to be alot of fun and a breath of fresh air after our trip from San Jose. It was beautiful, clean and well... more

We have been to Costa Rica and the Rainforest on numerous occassions but this is the first time to La Paz, it was well worth the wait and will be on our itenerary many more times!! It is truly not only beautiful but educational. The tour, either with a guide or self toured, starts out near canopy level to the... more

We did a 2-hour stop here on our way to the airport in San Jose. I wouldn't have wanted this to be our only experience of the rainforest, as seeing toucans, parrots, poison frogs, sloths, and monkeys in the wild is much cooler. But we all really enjoyed the chance to see and photograph birds and butterflies close up. The... more
