This relatively small coffee operation is heavily marketed in Costa Rica and exported to the US and Japan. They are a high-quality, regional producer. The tour of their facility is a well advertised event in San Jose and is very well organized and staged. Unfortunately, as well staged as it is it contains relatively very little information on coffee beyond... more

We went on the tour of Cafe Britt without any expectations of what we might experience. What a surprise when our potentially dull tour of the farm and coffee making process was presented by three bubbly actors, speaking both english and spanish, making the lesson seem more like a fun performance than an education session. Don't let this deceive you... more

My wife and I live in Costa Rica, and my mom was visiting for a week. We have to work, thus wanted to find some daytime activities that she could do on her own. We have done the Cafe Brit tour before, and enjoyed it, and decided to send my mom on it. My Mom thoroughly enjoyed this. She enjoys... more

My husband and I did the tour with lunch today and had a great time, learned about the entire coffee making process, got to practice making expresso and lattes and met great folks from Spain, Belgium, and Germany. We appreciated learning about the differences in shade grown, organic versus other beans. Our guides were knowledgeable and since the audience consisted... more

It's a cute tour, where you will learn a lot about coffee. Yes, the actors can be a little cheesy, but overall, they do a good job and keep the audience involved. The gift shop had the best prices for Cafe Britt products that we found in all of Costa Rica. It's at least worth stopping by on your way... more

My husband and I just completed the coffee tour at Cafe Britt. Overall, we were very disappointed. This tour is NOT worth the 35 dollars we paid for the tour + mediocre lunch. The staff is very friendly; however, it seemed as though the tour was geared toward children (or adults who have the attention span of a child). The... more

The tour is entertaining but very staged. Had hoped to see the workings of a coffee plantation, but this is more of a superficial tour designed to get you into the gift shop. No matter, the gift shop is excellent, but not as good as the restaurant. The food was outstanding and the coffee drinks were the best. Puts Starbucks... more

First took this tour 13 years ago, when tourists were far fewer in number, and the tour group size was much more manageable. This time, they tried to maneuver around what was probably near 125 people, so at several stops found myself at the rear of the pack, not able to really see or enjoy the particular presentation. The tour... more

What a pleasure it was to take this tour! It wasn't what we expected! It comes complete with a comedic skit in an air conditioned auditorium that had us in stitches! Of course, the grounds were beautifully planted with all sorts of flowers among the coffee bushes, and the store had tons of interesting stuff. As someone who has worked... more
