Lots of waves, plenty of space, great views. Beach chairs and umbrella expensive, so we never rented them. many vendors, but you just have to say no.

Beautiful beach, shops, food and surfing. Would visit this beach again. A little windy but beautiful.

Not too many people trying to sell their wares, loved being at bars or restaurants on beach for sunset.

Beautiful convenient beach. Sunsets are amazing. Surf's good I hear. At times there were a few vendors that sold the same stuff. They weren't bothersome, just doing their job, but kind of frequent. Also, lots of people. Lots of other amazing beaches to go to besides this one if you have a car.

Great beginner waves with lots of people trying to catch them. If you like to be in "the scene" this is the spot. If you want to surf or relax head south to junqillal. The new Hotel Iguanazul is a great base for all your Costa Rican Dreams.

We met Nico on the beach renting surfboards. His happiness and excitement came through immediately. This is a beautiful country with welcoming people. Beaches are great and there is always something to do in town. There are tours for zip lining, horseback riding, hiking, sightseeing, and more. We went for 10 days on our honeymoon and fell in love. Don't leave your belonging in your car though :(

With it's gorgeous backdrop of mountains, intense waves, and warm waters, Tamarindo beach is visually stunning, superb for surfers, and a hell of a lot of fun to frolic in the surf with your kids.....if your careful. The beaches of Costa Rica can not be compared to the sugar white sands and turquoise waters of the Caribbean. I hate when... More

A lot of vendors selling stuff, but they were all very nice. Swell was only 2-4 feet, but it was fun to ride the waves. A lot of restaurants to choose from. Stopped by Witch's Rock Surf Camp for some drinks afterwards
