I recently visited Costa Rica last week and a friend of mine took me on a day trip to Tamarindo Beach. I was staying in Guanacaste at a resort and this trip was just about 1 hr. The ride there was amazing, great views and I can truly say Costa Rica is one of the most amazing places I have... More

I think the surf wasn't as great as we expected in February unless we went at 5am. Being from Portland, OR, getting up that early was a bit of a stuggle was our issue. Apart from that, we had a great time! I would stay here again! I love Costa Rica!

Our family of 6 took a private trip to Tamarindo from Rui Palace for the day. Our kids loved the beach, boogie boarding the waves and watching the surfers. Soft sand, chairs available for rent, nice, safe and clean area.

It's the nearest beach at the center of Tamarindo, not so wild but nice and with a lot of services like bars and restaurant. Along the beach you can rent a surfboard with 10dollars, good price!

Pick what you like to do and these waves will accommodate. On the day we visited the waves swelled to 10-12 feet. The sand is soft, just stay way from the outcroppings of rock. The peddlers are pesky but will leave you alone if you wave them off.

Rent a bike and go around Tamarindo with some friends and you'll have a great time! Beach is good and good prices all around. Recomended.

Beautiful sunsets, safe to walk at night (although not recommended by people) I have never felt safer in any other Central American town. Always somewhere to sit Or something to do. All the locals are friendly even if you don't buy anything ;) Giving high fives and hugs whenever they see you haha if you want a little more seclusion... More

We were there during semana Santa and it was quite busy, but not too busy. The beach is clean and fun, with great waves to learn how to surf. Awesome Atmosphere.
