This beach is awesome in every way. We were in Costa Rica during the last 2 weeks of July and although it is considered "rainy" season, we had bright sunshine every day. There was actually a drought in all of Guanacaste while the rest of Costa Rica was getting rain daily. This contributed to the fact that this awesome beach,... More

tamarindo is a nice beach. It is more of a party town than other beaches and there are plenty of small bars.

Excellent surfing and walking beach. Very nice sunsets thanks to the orientation of the beach. Beautiful surroundings with nice views all around the bay. Not very much recommended for swimming for two reasons : the surf can be pretty rough some days , but more importantly, there are several hotels along the beach . You know what this means !!

This beach is great for long walks. When the tide goes out it gives you tons of sand to walk on. Great for a run in the morning, or yoga on the beach in the afternoon.

Beach itself is beautiful. Lava rocks in the water so one does have to take care when in the water. Clean!

Overcrowded, constantly hassled by people selling stuff. Surf is pretty poor, better north and south. Too many beginners surfing and swimming, it becomes dangerous.

The beach is very nice, but touristy. It's located right off the strip so you can go eat or walk around if the sun is too hot. I'm constantly watching my belongings and I was careful not to bring anything too valuable to the beach but it wasn't too crowded. The surfing here is mostly for the tourists to try... More
