Some of the best Beginner surf breaks, right in front of WRSC. The beach is decent sized and excellent for either surfing or relaxing. If you are looking for something a bit emptier, not the place.

Nice beach, very little waves and great water temperature at the end of Sept. Easy access with plenty of parking, just few feet from the center.

Wild surf, not a swimmers paradise. Rocky shore, water warm but rough. Surfers paradise and a delightful walking beach

The beach is great to walk, swim or surf. However it gets old very fast when you are approached and harassed non stop. People on the beach are always trying to sell you either cocaine, Weed or other drugs. The local lady's who sell jewelry are always nice however. I was there for 5 days and could not walk the beach... More

Nice beach. Great for walking. Fun little town close to the beach. Some of the best beaches along Nicoya coast are nearby.

Tamarindo Beach is a super cool town-- just be careful walking around. The beach itself is super cool and lined up and down with surfers.

this beach was nice, if you like to be near shops, etc. We were there during low season so easy to rent a chair and not be crowded. Sand not as pretty as some of the more private beaches and people come by selling things but the water and waves were great. Loved watching dogs playing in the surf.

Four of us decided to take up boogie boarding late in life and this was the perfect beach for this. Plus you get to watch the sunset from the water -- just beautiful. Not sure what the surfers thought of us but we noticed they stayed away. Great fun. Then go to the Diria outdoor bar for a mojitos from... More

This is a great stretch of beach. If you're looking for something deserted and romantic, probably look elsewhere. I was traveling solo, so it was a welcome thing for me to visit a beach with lots of other people on it. I visited with two different couples from Canada and took some spectacular photos. Come here around 5:30pm with your... More

Tamarindo was beautiful- this is the type of beach often used for screen savers. Pristine, warm sand, and vendors selling cold coconut water hiking up and down the beach often enough to keep you hydrated if you didn't come prepared for a day in the sun. They do charge you to sit in their pre-set recliners with umbrella, but the... More
