Our family of 11, ages 1-60, had a wonderful hiking experience in the Werner Sauter Biological Reserve. Alvaro's enthusiasm, knowledge and personality made the hike enjoyable for everyone. His understanding of ecosystems and how uninformed human intrusions can adversely impact on them was very interesting. The hike peaks with a spectacular view of the coast accompanied by fresh fruit and... More

Alvaro is an informed and amicable guide. the trials are beautiful, the vista at the summit outstanding and the snacks refreshing. We saw lots of birds, monkeys and learned so much about the local flora and fauna. Highly recommended!

This hike is also called Samara Trail, which is where I posted my review. It's a terrific hike - not to be missed when visiting Samara.

This a great place to get into the forest habitat without the drive to a national park. A tour hour guided hike will show you lots of animals and birds plus incredible views of Playa Samara. I send all my guests.

This was a hi lite of our trip to Costa Rica. Alvaro was an informed guide and taught us so much about the eco system of the area. We saw monkeys, tarantula nests, trees and plants. if you are in Samara, you should take a couple of hours to explore the local forest with knowledgable naturalist Alvaro. The walk is gorgeous and the sightings of birds endless. Beautiful views, I am looking forward to doing this again!
