I enrolled at Intercultura Language school for the second summer in a row and I'm happy to report that the experience was just as incredible as my first time. My teachers remembered me from the year before and my Spanish improved significantly. I stayed with the same "Mama Tica" from the previous year and made sure that I spent significant... More

I was here for two weeks and can't rate the programme highly enough. I've been to 4 different schools during the past two months and this was undoubtedly the best by far, in terms of both quality of the programme and the social extras offered after class. The classes were perfectly tailored for my level and flexible enough to allow... More

My husband and I took classes here for two weeks - we did semi private tuition so it might be slightly different, but we found the teaching was fantastic. We had Silvia as our teacher and she was warm, fun and engaging from the get go. We learned far more in the first day than we had envisioned, and did... More

Being a Spanish teacher myself, I know how difficult it is to teach a foreign language especially to beginners. I have come two different summers to brush up on my upper level Spanish (I teach Spanish 1) and to meet new friends many of whom I've stayed in touch with and have even been to visit. This school is very... More

Wow, what a compliment! That says a lot coming from a Spanish teacher. Ashley, we're so pleased that you've come to study with us on more than one occasion and really appreciate your feedback. Hopefully we'll see you again in the future. More

We took classes here for two weeks. We both really liked our teachers, and all the people who work in the main office are super helpful. Most importantly, we both improved our Spanish. We met a woman who didn't speak a word of Spanish before she arrived and after five weeks she was conversational. It cost a more than other... More

Hola! It's great that you found the "Spanish Only" rule helpful. We implemented that rule after reading lots of student feedback about the difficulty to study and concentrate in Spanish with other languages being spoken around campus. It is amazing how much one can learn in just a few weeks. We're grateful for the review and happy that you enjoyed... More

I had never attended a program like this, so I have nothing to compare it to. I have many good things to say about it. The facility is beautiful, right on the beach. the class rooms have a/c and white boards. The instructors have many activities that are fun and interactive. The other students I met were mostly Europeans working... More

Hola and thank you for taking the time to write such a comprehensive review. It's exciting to observe the progress one makes when learning a new language, like when you realized that you could understand the local news. I agree that it is helpful to brush up on some grammar before coming if you have the time. DuoLingo is an... More

As chaperones for a high school tour to Costa Rica, we took a group of 20 students to Intercultura for a day long Spanish lesson. Unfortunately, as we were only in Samara for a few days, the students weren't super stoked to be spending the day learning Spanish so we only stayed for 1/2 the day. Had I been by... More

Thanks so much for writing. We hope you and your group had a fun and enriching time here in Costa Rica and with Intercultura, Sámara Language School. I studied here for a week and really wish I could have stayed here at least two more weeks in order to improve my Spanish and experience more of Samara. I really enjoyed my class and my teacher and loved going to class and doing my homework. Being required to speak only Spanish on the school campus was fun and... More

I attended Intercultura for five days, and even in that time was able to learn a lot of new Spanish. My teacher was very good, and the location is unbeatable, right on Samara Beach. I'd reccomend Intecultura to anyone looking to study Spanish in Costa Rica.

Last summer, I decided to take a Spanish immersion program. After doing some research, I decided to enroll in Intercultura for 4 weeks in Samara, Costa Rica. I wasn't sure what to expect before I left, but by the time I was finished I felt completely changed by the whole experience. First of all, if you want to learn Spanish,... More
