I attended a 2 hrs surf school for beginners and it was outstanding. I took some lessons in the past but this one was the best one because the guy explained the basics and let us practice in the sand to really understands the movements and DOs and DO NOT. Then we practice in the water for another hour. I... More

My daughter took the 1 hour beginners lesson and felt it was terrific. The board was just right, Shagy, the teacher was knowledgeable and she made it up on the board! Great experience.

Our family of 4 learned to surf with James at Jesse's Samara Surf School. James is the new owner of the school - he is as helpful and friendly as it gets. Excellent one-on-one instruction for a very reasonable price. All of our family: two adults, and two boys ages 10 and 12 were riding waves after a 1-hour lesson.... More

My husband and I ended our trip in Samara and decided to grab a surf lesson... we had a beginner one in Australia a few years ago and needed a refresher... really, it was like learning from scratch again. It was great! We were up and catching waves on our own after the first hour (unlike our earlier experience). The... More

There were three or four surf schools in Samara - all fairly equivalent in price. Jesse's was a walk down the beach (further than C&Cs and other "in-town" ones), but well worth the stroll. A key bonus for me was the instructors - not only were they friendly and patient, but completely bilingual. I do not speak Spanish, so I... More
