I had a great time diving with the Diving Safaris crew. I had the luck 2 other divers where sick and canceled their day of diving. I enjoyed the private dive. The local diving is nice and the dive sites are full of life. The boat was comfortable for the short ride. After the dive there was fresh water, cookies,... More

Having dived regularly with Diving Safaris for more than 13 years the number one reason I keep coming back is that the owner, Bobbie-Jo, places safety first and does not compromise for the sake of making a buck. My son and grandchildren now dive with DS and so do other family members and several of my friends. They all love... More

There are many dive shops to chose from in the Gulf of Papagayo area, and seemingly more every year. There are not huge variations in price and they they all have access to the same dive sites. All of the divemasters and instructors have the same training, if not the same amount of experience. The largest one sells more gear,... More

I wanted to learn how to dive, and read about Diving Safaris in Playa Hermosa. I picked one of the hotels, El Velero, based on their website. I did my Open Water certification with Mark from Diving Safaris. What a great experience! Mark was very encouraging, knows how to teach SCUBA, and delightful to spend time with. He served as... More

This is not a flashy tourist trap, but a family business. I am a regular travel diver, I've seen some broad ranges of shops. Some things you will love: the gear is good quality and well maintained. It's not all brand new, but it's well maintained. Students get 1:1 instruction most of the time. If you are coming to do... More

I visit Hermosa about once a year. I got my both my open water certification and advanced open water certifications with Diving Safaris and have been diving with them many many times. I have been diving with Bobbie Jo and and many members of her staff and have always found them pleasant, safety-conscious and professional at all times. I will... More

Snorkel tour one day for family of 4 and scuba diving 2nd day for 2. Great service, friendly, English speaking staff - really appreciated cookies & pineapple in-between dives.

Good dive masters, Jackson and Brian, and nice people in the "shop". Rental equipment was well maintained and safe. Be aware that their boat is sloooooooow (1 of 2 engines non-op). I'm amazed at the 5star ratings this outfit gets- maybe its just the way it is in Costa Rica. Service in other dive locations (Carribean) is way better than... More
