Easy to find, not crowded. Very beautiful and relaxing. Sandy with small waves. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy! More

We saw several other beaches, but my wife and I agreed that we liked Playa Hermosa the best. The sand isn't white but grey/brown, but the gentle surf and the great snorkeling near the rocks more than made up for the lack of white sand. More

Its a great town there isnt much to do for tourists. There is about one grocery store and one school. You have to drive a little ways or catch a cab to go to Coco Beach. There are a few good restaurants in Playa Hermosa. Ginger is by far the best tasting one! A little pricy and the portions arent... More

I stayed at Villas Sol Hotel & villas & loved this area!! The beach in quiet & relaxing & there are restaurants right on it!! El Velero was delicious & a great place to watch the boats & sunset. They have a popular BBQ night I didnt get chance to check out. Along the main road there is a restaurant... More

Costa Rica has some amazing beaches, but unfortunately this isn't one of the best. The sand is fine and a mix of volcanic and white sand. The water just seemed a little "dirty" although it is fine to swim in.. And the beach isn't highly manicured like some in the area. More

We went to Playa Hermosa for the day while staying in Playa del Coco. There were far more local people and the atmosphere on the beach was very fun. Lots of kids, parents and grandparents. There were even some areas where there were lounge chairs on the beach, which was awesome! We went to one of the little beach bars... More

If you want to have your cake and eat it too, Playa Hermosa (Guanacaste) is the place to go. A pristine, Blue Flag beach offers the ultimate in a relaxing beach side vacation and is only 6 miles away from the wild and woolly, party time atmosphere of Playas del Coco. I'm not saying that Hermosa doesn't party, there are... More
