It was very interesting and was good to see the different things

I really enjoy visiting the church, every time I visit these churches, it reminds me of our Lord. I would encourage all tourists it is a must to visit.

As others have posted this church was closed when we walked up to it. However, it was worth the few blocks walk from the Central Park just to see the simplicity of the architecture. It was actually very humbling. The church must be very beloved by the parishioners because the exterior was in pristine condition. Wish we could have seen... More

We drove into town to see the church but it was closed as another reviewer had posted. It was situated next to a plain plaza/playground. I checked every wooden door but they were all locked. There were some workers on the right of the church doing some landscaping and cleaning. Afterwards, we decided to drive to the Cathedral instead which... More

Near the center of town, La Ermita La Agonia has been nicely preserved to ensure memory of its 100+ years of existence. Its simple architectural style brings to mind the call for a simple but passionate life as a Christian disciple. The interior is rudimentary but beautiful in its historic space and furnishings. Take time for prayer and reflection after... More

Very nice, rather large church in the center of town - was definitely worth dropping in to see. It is an old church, but the outside architecture looks angular and modern. (We subsequently was other churches in Costa Rica with a similar structure). Large stairs led into the church. The feeling was spacious, and there were very beautiful statues in... More

Beautiful 100+ year old colonial style church. Thankfully, Liberia has gotten a preservation society in place now to protect gems like this. Currently being renovated so I am hopeful it will be more beautiful than ever soon!

Small, old Colonial Style Church. The outside was painted nice and that is all I can say about it because it was closed...

A pretty little church but it seems closed for good. If you're expecting, as some of the guides say, Liberia to be full of Colonial marvels, you may be disappointed.
