Liberia is not known for its shopping options. We stopped here after after a quick visit into town. We were the only patrons at the time. Our salesman explained the significance of the pre-Colombian style pendants that I purchased (two eagles and a frog; I wanted the shaman but it was out of stock) and the coffee quality and types.... We stopped here as a suggestion from our Nexus tour guide on a private tour. Great coffee roasting experience with Uncle Leo, where we learned a lot and purchased a LOT of coffee to bring back home. We also taste tested the coffee samples along with some complimentary cookies. A great selection of various souvenir gifts, especially some beautiful woodwork...and... More

This sourvenir shop, relatively close to Liberia airport, has a variety of souvenirs at reasonable prices. In addition to the usual T-shirts, beach wear, cards and knick-knacks, they have a beautiful selection of wooden pieces made from local woods. We bought a number of bowls and boxes here to take home as gifts. They also boast a coffee room where... More

Beautiful rosewood puzzle boxes, hammocks, magnets, key chains, coffee, you name it they have it! Great staff worked hard to keep my hands free, all my things were wrapped with care and waiting for me when I was ready to check out. They wrapped my hammock with such care, it made it unscathed through international air travel! This is a... More

We have been to the La Gran Nicoya on several occasions for souvenirs and wood pieces for our condo in Tamarindo. Found a wonderful traditional mask and beautifully crafted wooden pieces. Leonardo was friendly and so helpful in explaining the background of the art pieces. We then decided to return for the Wednesday Costa Rican evening where they serve traditional... More

We were happy to see and buy some locally made art pieces - different things which you don't find everywhere. We also had a delicious lunch here rather than the airport. The prices were very good on everything including lunch. We definately bought alot of coffe to take home-delicous!

This store was overpriced by almost two times on some items. The other smaller local stores or road side stands would be a much better bet. They don't have anything special or different here.
