Our tour group started with lunch at the Doka restaurant. Sadly, it was the worst meal and service experienced in Costa Rica. A number of coffees were freely available, but everyone was mostly unimpressed with the quality, considering that better coffee had been experienced during the tour prior to this last stop. It put everyone in a bad mood, so... More

This tour is set apart from the others because of the insight into how they process the beans once they are picked. An amazing facility run complete by natural water pouring out of the hill side. Very interesting to see the 100 year old technology still in operation today. The complex its self is very beautiful in the rolling hills... More

Doka estate is a beautiful coffee plantation located high in the mountains of Costa Rica. Juan Valdez would be right at home! This serene setting is ideal for couples. It's like a peaceful day walking in a park surrounded by gorgeous views with many small things to see and do. It is about an hour from downtown San Jose. If... More

We went with Expediciones Tropicales for out tour and Max our guide was brilliant. He really explained the coffee process well and made the tour interesting and informative. Lunch was good too. My only complaint was that the journey there involved stopping at some little tourist shop to pick up amd meet some other group members. We had to wait... More

We used Expediciones Tropicales for out tour and we loved it! We had a lovely breakfast and our guide walked us through the whole process. We heard from a few people at our hotel that they had gone to Britt and that it was not good at all. Highly recommend DOKA and Expediciones Tropicales !

Tour was short. Didn't get to see much of the coffee grove. There was a silly 5-10 min movie they sat us down to watch then we saw some of the ancient equipment they used. In short we did not actually see them make any coffee. Lunch was provided and it was typico but not worth what you pay. It... More

This was our first stop in the morning, and how appropriate. Very nice and peaceful here, and our guide showed us how coffee is grown, the history and all the equipment. If you are interested in coffee this is a great way to spend an hour in the morning, learning and sampling the coffee to wake you up. :-)

Even though we have visited coffee estates before we took this tour because 1 in our group had not done this before. I'm glad we did because their process is unique. It was very interesting to see how they used water for their process. They also dry the beans outside on large patios. If you get the opportunity to visit... More

This was the first stop on a tour my husband and I took. We had a wonderful traditional Costa Rican breakfast before the tour of the plantation. Bring money because you can stock up on coffee in the souvenir shop. The landscape is breathtaking
