I took a tour of the estate and enjoyed it. I myself enjoy having coffee in the morning and this tour helped me understand how I get to enjoy my cup of coffee. The tour takes you from start to finish, which I found fascinating. There are also a lot of cool flowers on the estate. At the end of... More

This was part of our Caravan tour. We ate a delicious lunch here then took the tour of the coffee plantation. Our guide explained the whole process to us from the planting, picking, fermenting, drying, packaging and selling. She was so knowledgeable and explained it all to us. We also got to sample the coffees. After the tour we went... More

The Doka Coffee plantation tour explains the coffee making process, how to pick good fruit, how they sort it, peel it, let it ferment, dry it, package & sell, etc. The place is beautiful and the tour is very interesting if you like coffee. Don't forget to sample the different coffees and try the coffee candy as well! They have... More

I was really looking forward to this tour. I visited the Doka Estate on Sunday February 22nd. The coffee picking season was over so our group was walked through the estate and given an explanation of what went on during normal operations. Although the grounds of this estate are beautiful the main reason for my visit was to experience the... More

Our guide was very informative about not only the production of the coffee but the actual planting and what is needed. We tasted a variety of coffee and then had the buffet lunch which was very good.

Coffee plantation with restaurant and museum / visitor centre. See how the wet process of producing the coffee bean from the coffee fruit is carried out. A fascinating tour of a still working water powered coffee production factory. Using the power of water, gravity and machinery originating from London, England, Doka still produce their coffee to old fashioned standards. Free... More

This is a superb spot to learn about Costa Rican coffee. The staff were great and the tour guide was well informed. Very interesting, great coffee prices and wonderful coffee. Apparently Starbucks purchases 55% of the Estates Coffee.

Located at the foot of the Poas volcano, the Doka Estate was described as an ideal elevation for growing coffee. The setting is beautiful. The property has well kept gardens and a large butterfly tent. I brought my wife and 2 kids up from San Jose' via rental car. This is a great way to get a taste of Costa... More

The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. You will learn everything there is to know about coffee, from planting and growing, to organic measures, to picking, sizing of beans, and roasting. Needless to say, there are tasting opportunities. If you are interested in buying coffee, it was cheaper at the Doka Estate than anywhere else we found it later. (Cheaper... More

This place is a little difficult to find. I had downloaded directions and a map from the Doka Estates website, which proved to be of no use one we set out to find it. Fortunately, our GPS guided us through town and rural residential areas to reach it. We were greeted in the parking lot, paid our admission and entered... More
