This place is not only one of the most beautiful and serene places on earth, but the coffee here is incredible. The people of Doka are yet another amazing aspect of this place- so friendly and informative. The early 9am your was great as it wasn't very busy yet. A group of three of us students navigated our way from... More

We found the tour to be very interesting, unfortunately it was not harvesting season. We ate lunch at Doka and the food was good but not memorable. Definitely worth the trip to see a REAL coffee operation. We would visit again just to see the wet mill working. And the coffee is great! Also a nice butterfly garden.

This is a great tour of a coffee plantation. We arrived about lunch time, so we ate at the restaurant on the grounds. It was "buffet style" and was decent. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there, but given we were there at lunch, I would not pass it up. After lunch, we did a "self-guided" tour... More

On the way from Poas to Manuel Antonio we stopped to visit this Coffee plantation. It was an interesting and informative tour covering the entire process of growing, harvesting and processing coffee. The tour ends with the inevitable but enjoyable visit to their souvenir shop. We purchased several items. Why not? Good stuff. We finished with a visit to their... More

The farm belongs to the Costa Rican Vargas Ruiz family, pioneers of coffee production for more than 70 years. The main objective of the Coffee Tour is to educate and inform the local and international population with regard to the whole production process as well as the processing of coffee. The tour takes place on the Doka Estate, where you can... More

Great overview of the process. This is a working farm so the fields will only show tourists what is taking place at the time. You will not see cherry coffee fruit in March for example. Videos make up the difference but very comprehensive tour.

We took a full day tour which included a stop at the Doka Estate. First off we were provided with a very good buffet lunch. The guide then took us through an informative tour of the estate. It was a good addition to our tour of the Poas Volcano.

The worst part was trying to find this place. Our gps just couldn't get us there, and maps don't seem to exist in this part of the country. So after some very creative navigating and driving, we did finally arrive. But once we got there, it was wonderful. We had some time before our tour started, so I visited the... More

Went as part of a group, but the tour was interesting. The place was pretty, and the coffee was fantastic. Brought back lots of coffee, etc. Tour took us through processing plant, and to see some actual plants-in-the-ground, but we didn't go away from the main building much. Clean bathrooms, nice attractions, tour guide spoke English well, and great coffee.
