Had a great time on our Doka Coffee Plantation tour, and learned a heck of a lot about coffee production. For instance, I had no idea that the beans were white until they are processed. The darkness (and flavour) is then determined by the roasting time (Doka’s strong espresso gets 20 min, the French roast gets 15 min). The other... More

Had a great time on the tour. The guides were very knowledgeable and taught me a lot that I didn't know about coffee. Try the Peaberry coffee - it lives up to its reputation.

Although i don't like coffee, this was part of the tour and i liked it very much! For those who don't like coffee, they have canopy tour, a butterfly garden and a bonsai garden! And they serve a nice typical breakfast!

Short: Long time to get there, good quick lunch, quick visit to the butterfly farm, quick guided tour of the coffee plantation, then off to the next stop. Long: This is a 1 to1.5 hour jaunt by bus from the cruiseport in Puntarenas with a stop at El Jardin (The Garden) for tourist Ts and trinkets. Barely enough time to... More

Great to go with kids; try to go during actual harvest season if possible (between November through February) to see the coffee factory in action. We saw the machinery, the estate etc but the factory was not functional as it was off season. The guide was chatty & informative and we learnt a lot about the various types of beans... More

We had a wonderful guide, Renaldo, and I was fascinated to learn so much about coffee. This is very clean and in a way, touristy.... which I actually appreciated a lot! The flower gardens were beautiful. The buffet lunch was kinda overpriced, but tasty and convenient in a lovely setting.

the fresh air and green of this mountain setting was enchanting! The tour of the coffee plantation was also a wonderful horticultural experience due to our driver and guide Mauricio from Jaco Adventures. He shared with us information about the history of coffee growing and exportation in Costa Rica, detailed information about the gorgeous plants surrounding the store and on... More

Arrived at the estate for a guided tour of "all you need to know about coffee" and thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. While some of our group stopped to have the buffet lunch (which they said was good), we went into the butterfly den for a stroll. It contains a lot of butterflies and some of them are pretty...
