Great tour and guide, but as mentioned would be far more interesting in harvest season than just seeing empty machines and videos. Personally not a fan of coffee unlike my family but it was enjoyed and not badly priced ($8 per bag at the end). Grounds are also very pretty with plenty of wildlife, though some of the gardens seemed... More

We spent the morning at the site and we received some very good information on how coffee is processed. The guide was delightful and funny. A little expensive for the tour but the tasting at the end was wonderful. Of course, we bought coffee at the gift shop at the end of the tour. There was a butterfly garden that... More

I visited the Doka Estates as part of a tour that included Poas Volcano and the La Paz waterfalls. We had breakfast at the estate which was adequate and we were able to try all of their coffee varieties. The tour was informative and the grounds and gardens were beautiful. They had a nice gift shop to purchase the coffee... More

As part of a Caravan Tour, we went to the Doka Estate for lunch, coffee tour, and visit to enclosed butterfly pavilion and bonsai garden. If it is convenient for you, it is worth visiting but if not convenient, there are more interesting activities in Costa Rica on which to spend your time. A knowledgeable guide from the estate who... I had a good time at the Doka Estate tour. The hospitality of the employees was excellent. From the people at the reception desk to the people in the restaurant to the tour guide, everybody was fantastic. Mauricio, our guide, was very knowledgable and spoke excellent English. He shared a lot of information about coffee from the growing if the... More

Driving through miles of coffee plantations is a great introduction to the Doka estate. The offer a very informative tour that takes you from seed to drink. They have preserved the old process for separating, cleaning and drying the beans. You wander through dense coffee plants dripping with berries. After the tour you can go in the butterfly habitat. So... More

I experienced this tour with a group of 70 teachers and students in July 2015. The guides were extremely knowledgeable but kept the information simple so that the youngest student was able to understand the various processes. From planting, to picking, to sorting and roasting, everything was presented in an interesting and professional manner. It was a very educational session... More

This was a really nice stop after a long flight. We decided to take a tour and then have lunch in beautiful surroundings. The girl that led the tour was easy to understand and had a great deal of knowledge. I thought it was very interesting to learn about, taste, and take home some wonderful coffee.

We visited the Doka Estate Coffee Tour as our "fun day" while on a mission trip with our Church Youth Group. Wasn't sure what to expect and didn't think it would hold the attention of the 11 high school students we had but boy was I wrong. The grounds of Doka were beautiful. Our group visited the Doka Coffee Plantation. I am not a coffee drinker but the tour was very interesting. I was amazed at how much work goes in to producing coffee.
