We went there one eveing while staying near arenal. Ate the buffet first, then proceeded to check out all the different thermal pools. Some were luke warm, while others were scolding hot. The best pool however, was the ones in the very back that the waterslides empited out into. It was hilarious watchign people come down off the crazy waterslides... more

My wife and I recently spent two weeks in Costa Rica on our honeymoon and spent three nights at the Baldi Hot Springs resort in La Fortuna. This was by far one of our favourite hotels and would definitely recommend it to anyone. Our time in Costa Rica was the end of October and the beginning of November which is... more

My wife, her family, and I spent an evening at Baldi Hot Springs in late August 2009. We had been to Tabacon before and wanted to give Baldi a try. We had a number of major problems at Baldi, and I would recommend AGAINST going there. First, one of the main pools has pounding techno-esque music playing from bad loudspeakers.... more

The Baldi Hot Springs, which is located a short way from La Fortuna (less than 10 minutes by car), was a fun excursion by our family. It cost $25 per person for entry, plus drinks/food. It is made up of 20-plus pools of differering temperatures, from 93 to 150+ degrees! Our kids loved the three slides. Since there are so... more

We stayed here for one night, a group rented a block of 4 rooms. The hot springs were amazing, but please DO NO USE THE WATERSLIDES. Because of poor construction the middle slide flips you on your side and sends you airborne midway through the ride (it is covered to top it off). One of my friends gashed his head... more

I traveled CR with three friends at the end of July 2009. We spent time in Jaco, Tamarindo, Manuel Antonio and finally, La Fortuna. While in La Fortuna, we decided to splurge and stay at the Baldi Hot Springs (we were staying cheap everywhere else). We were really excited about the waterslides. Long story short, I decided to go down... more

I was expecting a bunch of warm puddles in the middle of a field overlooking a volcano when I heard we were opting for the cheaper of the springs. Instead it is a gem, fully developed complex, 25 different pools of varying degrees, waterfalls, super fast slides, etc. Most pools have a view of the volcano and it's very, extremely... more

I didn't make reservation as I was told that July is low season and should be able to get room. Front desk (Danielle) quoted me $159 for 3 adults and one child (I advised her of the age). I went to car to check with my wife and asked her to let us check-in. Danielle changed her mind and told... more

We purchased a meal and entrance to the hot springs for the day from our hotel (Hotel Vista del Cerro) for $25USD/ea. The hot springs were excellent and very numerous with lots of tropical vegetation growing around the pools to make them more private from each other and from the connecting walking paths. The added water slides were a hit... more

For quite a while, I herniated over whether we should do Baldi or Tabacon. My puzzle was solved when I visited the coffee shop in La Fortuna, and the owners, when asked for their opinion, began a fierce debate on the merits of each. Their argument boiled down to this: if you want to have "fun," go to Baldi. If... more
