The climb down to this waterfall is difficult as is the climb up. I would recommend seeing this beautiful water and jumping in the water since it is a blast to experience the power of this fall. However the climb is a bit difficult up and down so may not be good for seniors who are not in shape or... More

What a relaxing spot to hang out at. After walking down about 600 meters, you arrive at the base of a breath taking waterfall. The sound of the water, the mist in the air, and the water to swim in is awesome. You are surrounded by the steep cliffs of the rainforest. It's romantic also!! I recommend you swim in... More

Nice waterfall, warm water. Nice little getaway, hit early morning as there will be less people. Beware of the mosquitoes. The mini-hike is kinda steep but well worth it... can bring camera and the cost is economical to visit the place. Anticipate staying in the area for a good couple hours to maximize the stay.

The cost to enter was $10, and the walk to the falls was about 15 minutes, down about 500 steps. The admission fee seems a bit high for what it is, but it is a nice little place. Bring your swimsuit so you can swim when you get to the bottom.

Large waterfall and the entrance and trails are well kept. Plenty of places to take good photographs. The reason I rated it average is because there's so many waterfalls in Costa Rica that you can see without hiking or paying a fee.

The hike of never ending stairs to and from was the only downside… but more than worth it. Had the chance to swim in the waterfall. The greenery that surrounded the base looked like something out of the movies. Frigid and powerful water pushed you away from the falls, but it just added to the experience. crystal clear water!! Just... More

We chose to walk up to the entrance to LaFortuna waterfall from our hotel. The walk is mostly uphill from Fortuna town and quite steep in the final 2k. Given a do-over, we would probably have hired a cab because we were very sweaty and a little worn when we reached the entrance. However, we were delighted to find a... More
