Liked seeing all the different animals.... I hate zoos, so I'm happy anytime I get to see/experience wildlife in its own habitat or at rescues/refuges/sanctuaries! Seeing all the different creatures & insects at night "doing their thing" is really cool. I would do this type of walk/tour again when we return to Costa Rica!

The hike cost $40 per person which is quite a lot really but we strolled around the garden for nearly 3 hours looking for wild life. We had a very knowledgable and informative guide called Gabriel with us. He was excellent at spotting and identifying creatures (he was even spotting frogs that are as small as your finger nails!!!) He... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour as we saw pretty much everything - frogs, sloths, spiders etc. We however had a day full of activities so by the time it got darker we were slightly tired. By the end of the tour we were exhausted. We also thought $35 bux per person was a bit expensive. Still, I would highly recommend... More

Tour was educational but a bit long, but with the cause to save the animals. Feeding the animals and petting some of the monkeys was great!

The only issue is cost of the night walk is a bit high $50 USD. per person 2 to 2 1/2 hour adventure. Now that the bad is out there time for the best part! I have been on many night walks in the La Fortuna area to Monte Verde. This one is by far the best. Our guide Gerald... More

A non-strenuous activity which children of all ages will enjoy as you get to be an explorer in the dark! Knowledgable guide and a walk that took around 2 hours to complete. We saw various types of frog, including the fabled "blue jeans" and "red-eyed" varieties. Starts at dusk (5.30pm) - back in time for dinner.

We were surprised by how much we loved this night tour. We saw many different types of frogs, including a red eyed tree frog which our guide even picked up and put down closer for us to see. The highlight for me was finding tree frog eggs on a tree trunk and being able to see the frogs moving around... More

We did a nightwalk with Jason recently. It was one of those evenings with non stop down pour but it was a perfect evening for sighting so many frogs and snakes. Jason was a great guide whose very passionate about his work. We saw many different species of frogs, also saw many red eye frogs mating. We saw an eyelash... More

Inti was our guide. As per previous reviews we learned the history of the small reserve & current efforts to maintain it. Inti's passion & enthusiasm for this work fuelled our enjoyment of the experience. Despite minimal recent rains we saw a variety of frogs including the red eyed tree frog and smoky jungle frog down in the pond area, an... More

We did an evening "frog walk" by making a reservation the day of and starting at 545. Our guide was an outside independent guide Oasis had hired apparently, he doesn't work for the refuge, but he was excellent. They provided water and flashlights. The property used to be a farm in a past generation and the current owners apparently dedicated... More
