The waterfall is absolutely beautiful and magical. There are a lot of steps to reach the base of the waterfall, but it is worth it, the view is fantastic. Don't miss it!

it is just an amazing blue sky river!!! Sometimes, because of the rain the trails can be very muddy but they are working to solve that situation. It is a type 2-3 hike, so not too heavy and not too easy! When you actually get to the waterfall, you feel like you are in the middle of a childrens story...

this is a place to enjoy and to see nature in a very different way... the hike is a bit heavy, no recommendable for children, and if you are in la fortuna take your time it takes like 2 hours to get there but i really liked there!

Rio Celeste was one amazing experience after another! The volcanic minerals make the River's water uncanny blue. There's a waterfall into a blue pool, a blue lagoon, a volcanic bubble pool, and a volcanic hot spring you can sit in! (so bring a swim suit you can wear under your clothes).
We had a guide, Chris, from Desafio who was...

Great place for pictures! The water was so pretty it looked fake as if it was in a painting! Beautiful colors and you can smell the sulphur released from the volcano. If you like to hike, it's a long one with lots of animals to see like monkeys and different types of birds. Can be very slippery from the mud...

We had a private guide for 3 of us. There weren't many people there the day we went. The hike itself was slippery and moderately difficult because of the climbs and descents, so it is not for people that are not in good shape. I loved the hike! Our guide pointed out the names of what we were seeing. We...

We were a little concerned when we started off for Rio Celeste because the sky was overcast, but the trail itself was only a little muddy, very manageable in sneakers with good tread. The 3km trail is well marked and leads into primary (old-growth) forest before turning off to the waterfall. We were advised to save the waterfall for journey...

It is a bit isolated, but totally worth it! The water is unbelievable, I couldn't stop taking pictures. There are a lot of unmarked turns on the trail, so I would recommend getting a guide that knows the area. Booking a guide through your hotel can guarantee a guide that won't have to travel far and will probably be cheaper...

You have to see it to believe what you are seeing. It really is a blue river, blue lagoon and a blue waterfall. The hike to get there, however, is very steep and difficult. You need to hold onto a rope/wire and be careful not to slip. They are building a wooden staircase, but it wasn't ready when we were...
