Our guide was Cesar and he was wonderful. His English was not fantastic but it was a great chance to practice our Spanish. The views are unbeatable and the path is beautiful. The horses are very well cared for and very well behaved. The saddles were in good quality, which makes all the difference in the quality of a ride.... More

Lots of fun. Be sure to wear your helmet, though, and be careful riding your horse. We took the difficult path.

For myself and three others who were novices of horseback riding, this was a fun and worthwhile experience. Despite some soreness the next day we all enjoyed going up and down mountains on horseback, and finally getting to see the top of the Arenal Volcano toward the end. One part of the experience that shouldn't be missed is dining at... More

Horses at this place were amazing. It is easy to see that they are well treated. The ride is easy to do even for beginners. The guide was great and showed us a lot of wildlife. We also got interesting views of the volcano. I would definitely recomment this place.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our horseback riding excursion at Don Tobias! Marvin, our guide, excellently selected horses for each member of the group (there were about 10 people total) from the 7 year old boy to the experienced adult riders. The horses were clearly well-trained, putting everyone at ease. Our ride crossed into the fields at the base... More

Our family of 6 (4 adults/2 older teens) recently enjoyed a Costa Rican vacation which included a three-hour horseback riding tour in the vicinity of the Arenal Volcano. Marvin was our guide and did a tremendous job with our group, showing us the exotic rainforest, gradual transitions into plains and lily ponds and beautiful landscapes of this country. He was... You get to gallop, canter, and trot. SOOO much fun. The guide was very good and pointed out lots of amazing animals. We saw a sloth and a family of spider monkeys. The tour starts at the springs hotel so it is very close to town and other hotels. The guides name that we had was Marvin so ask for... More

I was the only person on this ride, so had my own private tour. Very scenic ride around the volcano. Open fields and forest, expansive views. Even saw a family of wild pigs!
