Wonderful wildlife preserve with an easy hike and very friendly and knowledgeable guides. We saw so many amazing animals including birds, frogs, butterflies, lizards, caimans, and a sloth! I wish I could remember the guides name but he was excellent, I mentioned that I really wanted to see a red eyed tree frog but they were nocturnal and we probably... More

What a great tour...easy walking tour through the Reserve with a very knowledgeable and friendly guide and his tripod scope. He would locate the animal and invite each person to take a peek...only four in our group so this was exciting! Loved watching the sloths in their natural habitat vs. in a cage or animal rescue situation. The butterfly farm... More

We liked the abundance of wildlife found at Ecocentro Danaus. We came with our guide, Diego Quesada, and were told all about the birds, frogs, butterflies and animals we saw here. We came with 3 kids (6, 10, 12) and the length of the trails was perfect for our 6 year old. My nature loving 12 year could have stayed... More

the place is a former small farm converted in eco center. Everything is recreated and in 20/30 minutes you are done. It is a must to visit with a guide. They are passionate about what they do and they are able to point out animals that you'll have missed without them. We traveled 3 hrs to get there and it... More

We loved this tour. Bernardo, our guide, was enthusiastic and entertaining. We started the tour watching a three-toed sloth in the tree right above reception. We found another along our tour. We also saw a lot of frogs, snakes, spiders, and caymans. We even came back the next day (no charge!) to see a pair of toucans. What a great... More

Beautiful grounds with so much wildlife to be seen. We took a tour and were the only ones! Our guide was really knowledge, spotted lots of animals and even helped us take some amazing photos. It was great to look through his telescope to get a better look at the animals. We saw sloths, caimans, frogs, lots of birds, agoutis,... More

The centre is not at all a big place but there are a ton of animals in and around it: Two and three toed sloths, caymans, more birds than you can count, agouti, frogs... But what made it stand out as a highlight of our stay in La Fortuna was Elias, the very enthusiastic and friendly guide.

We were given a tip by a tour guide to check this place out and we were so glad we did. We set up a guided tour through our hotel (Nayara) so we had our own private guide (and his assistant) since we were the only ones that day to sign up. This place is fairly small but it so... More

There were very nice people and our tour guide was very polite. We saw many little critters and cool plants. Our tour guide was very patient and endured all our endless questions. He also seemed to know all the hot spots where anything might be hiding and then some. It also took us a while but with his keen eye,... More

This place strikes a great balance as a manicured, well trodden small piece of genuine rainforest. On your own you could walk round in half an hour but take a guide - we had the incomparable Elias with his fantastic English, encyclopaedic knowledge of flora and fauna and his powerful set of binoculars on a stand. He spotted so many... More
