This place isn't huge, but it's packed with all kinds of exotic critters, from Jesus Christ lizards to colorful frogs to birds and butterflies. We went on several nature hikes while in Costa Rica, but I think we saw more creatures on this short tour than anywhere else. The guide was fairly knowledgeable, although a little more enthusiasm would have... More

This reserve was definitely a highlight of our time in La Fortuna. While we didn't have a guide as we visited on a Sunday, the staff on duty were incredibly helpful in giving advice about what to see and where to see it. We saw multiple sloths, dozens of different frogs and birds. Total value for money abduction would visit... More

My husband and I decided to do this tour while staying near La Fortuna. We loved it. Gabriel was a wonderful guide and was incredibly knowledgeable. He was passionate about the animals and his job and he made the tour very exciting. We saw so many animals. A red coral snake, 3 sloths, caimen, many lizards, frogs and insects. The... More

I did the night tour with a very nice guide called Gabriel. Several reviews were very positive about this guide and I was not disappointed. Gabriel took me on a private tour since I was the only booking on that night. He went beyond the call of duty to make my experience awesome and full of discoveries ! Very gentle... More

Although their website contains a schedule for guided tours these tours don't actually take place. When I arrived for the 3:30 pm tour I was told that they couldn't do the tour for just one person. So all I got was a map and some advice on where I should be able to spot different animals. I didn't find any... More

Elias, the tour guide, was great. Very knowledgeable and friendly. I told him I wanted to see a Sloth the minute I met him. He laughed and said maybe. Two minutes later we spotted a Sloth that was doing his thing and climbing back up. Recommend splurging the extra fee for the guide. He can spot things you can't. Have... More

After spending many hours hiking in the large rainforests and seeing animals from a distance, it was refreshing to be able to see lots of animals up close. Ecocentro Danaus is a secondary forest, meaning the original forest had been chopped down then replanted. At night it doesn't make a difference if it's a primary or secondary forest, just that... We went on a guided night hike, guided by Gabriel, who was knowledgeable and entertaining. We saw a sloth and numerous bugs, frogs, plants and caimans. It was rainy but a great learning experience. We didn't see anything too exciting but learned a lot. Probably a better trip for families with kids.

Our family of 3 generations, took this tour, it can be 10 minutes' walk or 2 hours, which we took. We paused to see and find all the animals big and small. We watched as a line of cut leaf ants marching with the bits of leaf that is more than 10 times their size or weight, into the deep... More

We were determined to see sloths on our Arenal trip but unfortunately the weather was foggy, rainy and the animals weren't cooperating. Before giving up, our tour guide took us to Ecocentro as a last minute add on to our tour. We got to see two different types of sloths and tons of birds, butterflies, frogs, plants, and much more!...
