The tour was fantastic, and Gonzalo, our guide was awesome! We just worried about the condition of the horses. They were very skinny and had some cuts and scrapes on them.

Fun way to spend an afternoon! Ride to waterfall is about an hour and a half each way. Beautiful scenery along the way- through cow pastures, forest with stream crossings, and rural country roads. Horses are very well-trained and know the trails perfectly. Most of the people in our group, including the kids, had never been on a horse before.... More

On 8/25/14 my wife, our two adult daughters had a great trip to the Arenal waterfall. Our horses were not the plodding type, and they had the energy to trot a times to keep things interesting. No one in our group of 12 had any problems with the horses, and the two guides were great. But horses are horses, and... More

It was a nice experience, however, our guide hardly spoke to us the entire time...wish we got the guide that many previous reviewers raved about who seemed to be a lot more outgoing. Our horses showed signs of not wanting to do the trek. My horse kept wanting to go back inside the stable from the beginning and my husband's... More

To get to the waterfall, you have to take the horses on the paved road up. Was hoping to ride them on a trail to the falls. Guide was great. Very helpful and made everyone feel safe. know nothing about horses so cannot speak much about their care. Being on horseback by the volcano was beautiful. Tour says be there... More

Horses are very well trained. Guides (one is owner's son I believe) are excellent. All in our group are first timers, but they trained us well. Make sure you pack swim dress as they take you to water falls and you can get wet.

What an awesome way to start our 3-tour agenda with an hour horse-back ride to the falls, a short hike down to the water for a dip, and a return ride to the stables. The horses are obviously so well cared for and the staff outstanding. The guide took many pictures and sent them to us by e-mail:)) It was... More

Our guide was amazing and very instructive, he knew everything and had answer to all our questions. The ride starts at the ranch where you get to choose from beautiful, well treated and healthy horses. You then ride thru the rain forest, rivers and hills. You get to see wildlife, birds and more.. Then you stop, get off your horse... More

Took the horse ride to the falls and had a wonderful time. The hike down and back is long but swimming in the water in he presence of the waterfall is pretty spectacular.
